Two familiar faces will return to the Formula E paddock for a new Rookie Test in Madrid with Nissan : Abbi Pulling and Victor Martins. Both of these young talents have already recently tested their worth behind the wheel of an electric challenger.
Pulling is back in an official capacity
In fact, the young British talent has recently taken up the role of Rookie and Simulator Driver for Nissan. It’ll be the fifth time for Pulling representing Nissan in an official Formula E session at the upcoming Madrid Rookie Test after dominating the Women’s Test. Her latest outing for the Japanese manufacturer took place in Miami, taking seventh place in the mixed practice session.
The 2024 F1 Academy Champion, who will team up again with Rodin Motorsport for a second season of GB3, is looking forward to the longer on track opportunity set to unfold on Sunday.
“I’m pleased to be teaming up with Nissan Formula E Team again in Jarama. I’m feeling comfortable in the car following my recent outings and the simulator work, so my target is to keep improving. I was able to get up to speed quickly in Miami and Jarama is a track I’ve visited before with Nissan Formula E Team, so it will be interesting to compare myself to the benchmark set there last time. I can’t wait to be back on track with the squad.”
Martins back to Formula E Rookie Test in Madrid after three years
Alpine Academy talent Victor Martin had had his Electric debut at Tempelhof in Berlin back during Season 9. At the time, the Frenchman had left an impressive mark by signing the second fastest lap time of the day.
Currently undertaking his maiden World Endurance Championship season with Alpine, Martins is glad to return to Formula E with a new Rookie Test appearance in Madrid for Nissan. He explained that his goal is to get to learn as much as he can about the latest Gen3Evo, which he will be driving for the first time.
“I’m really excited to be back with Nissan Formula E Team. I know a lot of the crew, so it will be great to return to familiar surroundings for a productive day of testing. I haven’t driven the GEN3 Evo car before so I’m looking forward to experiencing the all-wheel drive and learning as much as I can.”
“It’s been a while since I drove a Formula E car, but I’ll still look to build on my previous time with the team in Berlin. We’ve been preparing well for the test and I’m sure that we will complete our program together on the day. I’m very grateful for this opportunity and a big thank you to Nissan Formula E Team for believing in me.”
