After the conclusion of F1 pre-season testing, the Racing Bulls team have spoken out about their progress and expectations ahead of the 2026 Australian GP.
The new 2026 regulations and power units have played a major part in the team’s data collection and strategies heading into the first race of the season, having had consistent results across the six days. The overhaul of the Power Unit, split half and half between electric and combustion, has been the topic of conversation across all eleven teams.
Having faced a few technical problems at times through testing, the performance of the car excelled regarding reliability at the end of it.
After running several race simulations and some qualifying ones, the 2026 Racing Bulls F1 car is projected to be amongst the top tier within the midfield.
Racing Bulls drivers Lawson and Lindblad confident with car after 2026 Bahrain F1 testing
Speaking in the wake of pre-season testing, both Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad have stated that they are happy with the performance of the cars.
Rookie Arvid Lindblad, after breaking the record for most laps completed in a single day at the Bahrain circuit with 165 on the last day, stated that the smooth and consistent testing sessions were positive.
“We worked through the program smoothly, including Qualifying simulations and a full race distance run. There’s plenty to analyse over the next couple of days, but overall, it’s felt very positive.”
Liam Lawson shares his teammate’s judgement, outlining the importance of the twelve sessions in Bahrain and the knowledge they have gained ahead of the new season.
“This season’s testing has proven to be more important than any other year, so it’s great to see the progress we’ve made in such a short space of time.”
Looking ahead to the F1 Australian GP with the Racing Bulls Team in high spirits, Team Principal Alan Permane has faith in both Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad ahead of the race at Albert Park.
With new parts for Racing Bulls F1 arriving before the race in Melbourne in two weeks, Permane is certain that the team can maintain consistent results across the year, and ahead of the first race of the 2026 season.
“Two weeks testing in Bahrain has proved invaluable in giving the team a clearer picture of what to expect ahead of the first race and we feel as prepared as we can be for Melbourne,” he concluded.
