Random Vandals Racing (RVR) has confirmed its #99 Vbrick / Franck Muller BMW M4 GT3 entry for the full 2026 GT World Challenge (GTWC) America powered by AWS season. The Concord, North Carolina-based squad will contest the Pro-Am class with Derek DeBoer and Hampus Ericsson sharing driving duties.
By committing to a full-season effort, the team signals clear intent to fight for championship honours in one of the most competitive GT3 environments in North America. Moreover, the programme underlines RVR’s continued expansion and confidence in its BMW platform.
Proven experience meets championship momentum as RVR announces 2026 GTWC America line-up
DeBoer arrives with extensive GT3 experience and a strong Pro-Am résumé, having built his professional foundation within SRO competition. At the same time, Ericsson joins the team as the reigning 2025 Lamborghini Super Trofeo Pro Class Champion, carrying valuable momentum into his first full GT3 campaign.
Together, they form a pairing that blends composure, racecraft and hunger. As a result, the #99 BMW M4 GT3 enters the season as a credible Pro-Am title contender from the outset.
Team Principal Paul Sparta has expressed strong confidence in the new driver combination. He has highlighted the groundwork laid over the past year and emphasised the complementary strengths both drivers bring to the programme. Importantly, he has made clear that the team will not approach the season conservatively.
“We have been talking to Hampus on and off for the last year, we know how quick and composed he is. We now finally have him one of our cars,” said Paul Sparta, Team Principal of Random Vandals. “Similarly, I have raced Derek in the past and I know how adept he has become with GT3 machinery. So, we are going into the season squarely aimed at the Pro-Am Championship. It will also be great fun having Marcus in the car for Indy!”
With that statement, RVR firmly positions itself as a proactive championship challenger rather than a participant.
DeBoer returns to familiar ground
For DeBoer, the 2026 season represents both a competitive opportunity and a personal milestone. He returns to the SRO paddock where his professional journey began, now armed with experience gained across major international championships.
“SRO is where my professional career took shape, and everything I’ve accomplished since – from ELMS to WEC and the 24 hours of Le Mans, it all traces back to the foundation I built here,” said Derek DeBoer. “Coming back feels right and like coming home! I’m energized by this new team, this new challenge, the opportunity and honestly, after racing against those BMWs for three years, I’m ready to see what Hampus and I can accomplish behind the wheel of one.”
Consequently, DeBoer enters the campaign with renewed focus and a clear sense of purpose.
Ericsson embarks on first full GT3 season
Meanwhile, Ericsson prepares to tackle his first full GT3 championship campaign. After a breakthrough season in Lamborghini Super Trofeo, he now steps into a new chapter with BMW machinery and a championship-winning team behind him.
“Super happy to announce my first ever GT3 championship campaign!” exclaimed Hampus Ericsson. “To be racing in the Random Vandals Racing BMW is truly something special since we’ve been in touch for over a year. It truly feels like the right step in my career. I’ve only driven in America for one year, so there’s still lots to learn – new tracks, the American philosophy, and the whole circus around each racing event. But so far, I love it! Lucky for me, I have an experienced and fast teammate in Derek and a proven championship-winning team in RVR, which makes this an incredible opportunity. Can’t wait to hit the track and see what we can do! I haven’t ever looked forward to a season like this – all made possible by my sponsors, family, Derek and RVR welcoming me with open arms. Let’s go racing!”
Therefore, Ericsson combines enthusiasm with realism as he prepares to adapt to new circuits and the demands of a full GT3 season.
