Hillspeed’s Maxim Rehm ended the 2025 GB3 season in style with a composed and tactical drive to victory in Race 3 at Monza. It was a performance that demonstrated maturity beyond his experience and earned him a memorable first win at the upper level.
After climbing from his car, Rehm reflected on the significance of the achievement and how it surpassed all expectations at the start of the weekend.
“I feel good, I feel amazing. Starting over the weekend I didn’t think this would be possible. I really didn’t go into this weekend with any expectations, but we’ve shown that we’re fast enough in the Free Practices, we’ve shown that we’re fast enough in the Qualis, and I think that’s just proven that we’re plenty fast enough to win around here, again in [GB3], and especially with the slipstream in this car, without the DRS in P1, it’s very difficult to stay in the lead.”
Despite his limited experience, Rehm handled the high-speed demands of Monza with authority, keeping control even when rivals closed in through the slipstream.
“You’ve seen me and Deegan scrapping it a little bit. I think if he’s near slipstream and has DRS, it’s impossible to defend really. I tried to break the slipstream in the race, I think it sort of worked, and I’m happy with the result, yeah. We enjoyed that battle.”
Rehm’s awareness and tactical precision in managing air resistance and track position proved decisive. Asked whether he conserved tyres from pole, Rehm admitted that Monza’s smooth surface and cool temperatures demanded flat-out commitment.
“To be honest, the tyre deck here is very minimal, so there is not really any tyre saving, it’s just full centre, I think, every lap.”
Positive first impression and future plans
Reflecting on his debut weekend in GB3, Rehm spoke with genuine enthusiasm for the series and the machinery.
“It’s very nice. I really love the car. It’s just amazing, and you’ll probably see me here next year as well.”
The young German clearly felt at home in the championship, and his closing words hinted at unfinished business.
“Yeah, if I do it, let’s see what we can do in the championship. Obviously, it’s still a long way to go, but I’ll give my best.”
After showing calmness, racecraft and confidence at Monza, Rehm looks poised to emerge as one of GB3’s strongest contenders next year, should he choose to return for 2026.
