Argenti with Prema’s Reza Seewooruthan continued his strong 2025 GB3 Championship weekend at Donington Park, securing second place in Race 2 after a composed yet challenging drive behind race winner Alex Ninovic. Although the victory briefly appeared within reach due to Ninovic’s ten-second penalty, Seewooruthun ultimately had to settle for another podium — a result that nevertheless reinforced his growing consistency in the championship.

Fighting pace and frustration

Starting from pole position after an outstanding Qualifying performance, Seewooruthun got a clean launch off the line but was immediately overtaken by Ninovic, who jumped the start. While he was aware that the Australian had been handed a penalty, Seewooruthun admitted that keeping up proved difficult once Ninovic began to pull away at a rapid pace.

“No, I just struggled a bit with pace there. The start was unfortunate, I didn’t know that it was a jump start, but I knew that he had a penalty, but I just struggled really with pace to stay with him, so it’s unfortunate, but learn from it and try and pick up the pace for the final race.”

Despite the frustration of missing out on the win, Seewooruthun’s ability to remain composed and collect valuable points underlined his growing maturity as a front-runner. His second consecutive podium of the weekend also reflected the consistent progress both he and Argenti with Prema have made since the mid-season.

With Ninovic pushing to build a gap large enough to offset his penalty, Seewooruthun knew that the key to victory lay in keeping that margin below ten seconds. However, maintaining pace under pressure while avoiding track limits penalties proved a delicate balance.

“Yeah, it’s stressful trying to keep up with him, trying to do track limits, because if you could do some track limits, you’d be able to gain it a bit more, but I think we did what we could. Some mistakes by me in the final sector cost that for me, but frustrating, but we’ll move on from it.”

Confidence heading into the final race

Looking ahead to the reverse-grid finale of the 2025 GB3 Donington Park weekend, Seewooruthun remains optimistic. Confident in both his car and his own racecraft, he is targeting another strong finish to cap off what has already been a productive weekend for the team.

“Make up as many places as possible. I think our race pace is normally really good. Tyre deg didn’t seem to affect us that much, so just send some big moves and collect some points.”

Surrounded by support

Beyond the racing, Seewooruthun also enjoyed strong support from family and friends, many of whom travelled to Donington to cheer him on.

“Yeah, I think there was 27 or 30 at dinner last night. We went out, unfortunately, to have lots of support from family and friends that come every weekend to support me, but, yeah, it’s nice.”

Eyes on the future

Although a near-miss for victory, Seewooruthun’s second place in Race 2 was yet another sign of his steady development as a championship contender. With strong momentum heading into the afternoon’s race and a supportive team behind him, the Argenti with Prema driver remains poised to end his Donington weekend on a high.
