DAMS Lucas Oil has announced that Polish-British driver Roman Bilinski will join the team for his rookie F2 campaign in 2026. After a season in Formula 3 with Rodin Motorsport, the 21 year-old ended the year 11th in the Drivers’ Standings with 65 points, securing two podium and a race win along the way. Now, as he takes the next step up the single-seater ladder, Bilinski is set to take on the next challenging in his career, moving one step closer to his ultimate goal of reaching Formula 1.
Mixed campaign in Formula 3 with Rodin
The 2025 season got off to a strong start for Bilinski. At the season-opener in Melbourne, the 21 year-old finished 3rd in the Sprint Race and followed it up with a points-scoring finish in the Feature Race. After a points-less round in Bahrain, the European leg began positively in Imola, marking his return to the points. However, it wasn’t long before Bilinski found his footing once again and was back on the podium. During the fourth round in Monaco, he’d finished 2nd in the Feature Race after displaying impressive pace throughout the weekend.
While the following rounds were relatively uneventful and disappointing for the Polish-British driver, he bounced back in Silverstone. Bilinski secured himself a 10th and 4th place finish in the Sprint and Feature Races, respectively. Ending his run with Rodin on a high, Bilinski claimed his maiden F3 victory in the Sprint Race at the season finale in Monza. Following Tim Tramnitz’s post-race disqualification, he inherited the win, becoming the first Polish driver to win in F3.
Although he’d experienced several highs points during his campaign, there were moments when luck and results simply didn’t go his way. Despite that, his skill, potential and flashes of speed have consistently shown that he is a rising talent to watch.
A new challenge for Bilinski
For the 2026 F2 season, Bilinski will team up with returning driver Dino Beganovic, who moves from Hitech TGR following his 2025 campaign with them. In his announcement, Bilinski shared his excitement and gratitude at taking the next step in his career.
“Joining such a historic team as DAMS Lucas Oil is a real honour, Formula 2 is an incredible challenge, and I’m ready to give everything to represent the team at the highest level. I’ve learned a lot over the past few years and can’t wait to turn that experience into results on track. I’d like to thank DAMS Lucas Oil for giving me this opportunity and for their trust.”
DAMS Lucas Oil Team Owner Charles Pic added: “Roman brings a very balanced profile, quick, smart, and consistent. His success in Oceania confirmed both his potential and his professional approach. He joins DAMS Lucas Oil with great energy and a strong desire to progress. We’re looking forward to supporting him as he takes this important step in his career.”
