Argenti with Prema driver Reza Seewooruthan delivered an assured performance in Race 1 of the 2025 GB3 Championship at Donington Park, finishing second behind championship leader Alex Ninovic after a composed and consistent drive. The result marks a strong turnaround in form for the British racer, who will start Sunday’s Race 2 from pole position.
Reza returns to form
Following a challenging run during testing and the early part of the weekend, Seewooruthun bounced back with determination to claim his third podium finish of the season. Despite limited opportunities to attack due to two safety car interruptions, he maintained strong pace throughout the race and crossed the line just 0.639 seconds behind Ninovic, while keeping JHR Developments’ Noah Lisle at bay.
Reflecting on his performance, Seewooruthun admitted the weekend had not started smoothly but praised his team’s efforts in turning things around:
“Yeah, a turnaround of weekends. Struggled a bit in the testing, made some mistakes, had a few crashes, but brought it all together today.”
His calm and composed driving allowed him to convert a front-row start into a crucial podium, giving him valuable momentum heading into the second race of the weekend.
Building confidence and momentum
When asked about his mindset going into Saturday’s race, Seewooruthun emphasised the importance of maintaining positivity and focus—two qualities that clearly paid off.
“Yeah, clear head at the beginning of the day and build momentum from there. Stayed positive, stayed happy and the results are showing.”
Having shown strong pace early in the season, the Argenti with Prema driver has been working closely with his race engineer and coaching staff to refine his racecraft. His ability to reset mentally and rebuild confidence after setbacks has been a defining feature of his 2025 campaign.
Eyes on pole for Race 2
With his front-row performance now converted into a podium, Seewooruthun will line up on pole position for Race 2 at Donington Park—a prime opportunity to challenge for his first win of the season. Confident yet measured, he shared his strategy for tomorrow’s outing:
“Same start as we did there [in Race 1], mid-up position, so same again, good start and drive away. So the air wash is quite bad here, especially with all the wind as well, so just capitalise on everyone else and drive away.”
Seewooruthun also acknowledged that managing potential safety car restarts could prove crucial after the interruptions seen in Race 1. Fortunately, his preparation has included extensive simulator training with his driver coach, giving him the confidence to handle unpredictable race scenarios:
“Yeah, definitely. I’ve done lots of sim prep with Ricky, my coach, practising for those events.”
A platform for progress
Saturday’s performance has boosted both Seewooruthun’s confidence and Argenti with Prema’s standing in the GB3 paddock. His controlled drive, combined with steady improvements in pace, suggests that the team is unlocking the potential that was evident earlier in the season.
As the championship battle intensifies, Seewooruthun’s combination of maturity, resilience, and technical feedback makes him one to watch heading into the remaining races. With pole position awaiting him for Race 2, all eyes will be on whether he can convert his newfound momentum into a victory.
