The second season of the SRO GT Cup will feature five events and nine races in 2026, with Zhuhai International Circuit joining the calendar. Once again, the championship begins in support of the Formula 1 Heineken Chinese Grand Prix at Shanghai International Circuit in mid-March. However, organisers have introduced notable changes elsewhere on the schedule, most prominently a return to Zhuhai.
Historic return to Zhuhai for 2026 SRO GT Cup with Shanghai double and Beijing finale confirmed
Zhuhai holds deep-rooted links with the SRO Motorsports Group. The city’s streets hosted BPR races in 1994 and 1995 before the championship inaugurated Zhuhai International Circuit — China’s first permanent racing venue — in 1996. Subsequently, BPR’s successor, the FIA GT Championship, made four appearances at the venue, the most recent coming in 2007. Now, SRO GT Cup restores that connection as part of an expanded domestic-focused GT4 campaign.
In addition to the season opener during the Chinese Grand Prix weekend, SRO GT Cup will return to Shanghai on 5–6 June. On this occasion, the series supports GT World Challenge Asia powered by AWS.
Organisers scheduled the event across Friday and Saturday because China’s nationwide College Entrance Exam prevents Sunday racing. Officials will confirm the detailed timetable at a later date.
After Shanghai, the championship heads to the Beijing Street Circuit on 2–4 October. The venue joined GT World Challenge Asia in 2025 and now forms a key part of SRO GT Cup’s growing footprint.
Finally, a single 30-minute race in November will conclude the campaign. As in 2025, drivers must meet a qualifying procedure to contest the finale, with further details set for release shortly.
The China-based GT4 championship remains open to Bronze and Silver graded drivers. Competitors will fight for both class and overall honours across all five events, ensuring competitive depth throughout the season.
