Latvian racing talent Tomass Štolcermanis will compete in the 2026 FIA Formula Regional European Championship (FREC) with PREMA Racing. Born on 28 May 2007, Štolcermanis’ rapid rise through motorsport has seen him evolve from a karting champion to a promising single-seater driver in just a few years.
A strong early career paves way to FREC for Štolcermanis
Štolcermanis started karting at the age of three, and by 2016, he had won the Latvian Republic Championship in Micro Max. His achievements continued in Junior karts, where he claimed the 2019 Latvian Karting Championship and the 2021 Rotax Max Challenge Grand Finals.
In 2022, Štolcermanis moved to senior karting, where he excelled from the start, winning the Champions of the Future Winter Series and the WSK Open Cup in OK. He also claimed podiums in the Karting European Championship and World Cup in KZ2. Thus, his success in karting earned him a spot at the Ferrari Driver Academy before making the leap to single-seaters.
Štolcermanis made his single-seater debut in late 2023 with PREMA Racing in the Formula 4 South East Asia Championship, securing a podium finish on his debut. This performance led to his full-time involvement in 2024, where he raced in both the Formula 4 UAE Championship and Italian F4 Championship. His most notable result came in the Euro4 Championship, where he secured pole position at the Red Bull Ring and finished second in a memorable race.
In 2025, Štolcermanis raced in the F4 Middle East Championship with Mumbai Falcons Racing, where he achieved his first single-seater win at Yas Marina and finished the season fourth overall. He also competed in the Italian F4 Championship but took a break after two rounds.
Štolcermanis steps up to FREC with PREMA Racing in 2026
In 2025, Štolcermanis stepped up to the Formula Regional European Championship, joining Race Performance Motorsport for the Monza round. Although he was not eligible for points, Štolcermanis impressed with a 9th-place finish in race two, setting the stage for his full-time entry in 2026 with PREMA Racing. Furthermore, he will replace Sebastian Wheldon for the season, marking the next step in his development as a driver.

The 2026 Formula Regional European Championship (FREC) will kick off at the Red Bull Ring. There. PREMA Racing will fully integrate Štolcermanis into the team after participating in pre-season testing..
