Van Amersfoort Racing has officially confirmed its driver line-up for the 2026 FIA Formula Regional European Championship, selecting Dion Gowda, Andrea Dupé and Francisco Macedo to represent the Dutch team this season.

The announcement marks another step in the team’s long-standing commitment to developing emerging drivers on the single-seater ladder. Over several decades, Van Amersfoort Racing has built a strong reputation for nurturing young talent and preparing drivers for higher levels of international competition.

The team also enters the new campaign with significant momentum. In 2025, Van Amersfoort Racing celebrated its 50th anniversary in motorsport, a milestone that highlighted its long history of success and multiple international titles across junior formula categories.

At the same time, the 2026 campaign continues the team’s ongoing involvement in Formula Regional. Van Amersfoort Racing has competed in the championship since 2019 and remains an important presence in the category as it continues to identify and develop promising young drivers.

Gowda returns for second season in 2026 FREC with Van Amersfoort Racing

Team principal Brad Joyce will once again rely on Dion Gowda, who returns to the squad for a second consecutive season in the championship.

The Indian driver, now 18 years old, brings valuable experience to the line-up after completing his first Formula Regional campaign with the team last year. Gowda began his racing career in karting before moving into single-seater competition, where he spent two seasons competing in Formula 4.

His transition to Formula Regional in 2025 proved productive, as he secured several top-10 finishes throughout the season. In addition, he claimed the Rookie title, underlining his ability to adapt quickly to the demands of the category.

With a full season already under his belt, Gowda now returns aiming to build on that foundation and push for stronger results during the 2026 campaign.

Andrea Dupé steps up from Formula 4

Joining Gowda in the team is French driver Andrea Dupé, who represents one of the new additions to the Van Amersfoort Racing programme this year.

Born in 2008, Dupé began his racing career in karting before progressing into single-seater competition. In 2025, he completed his rookie season in Formula 4, gaining valuable experience as he adapted to the demands of car racing.

Now stepping up to Formula Regional, the young French driver enters the championship looking to continue his development while competing against a highly competitive field of emerging talent.

Macedo ready for FREC debut with Van Amersfoort Racing in 2026

Completing the team’s line-up is Portuguese driver Francisco Macedo, who will make his debut in the FIA Formula Regional European Championship this season.

Macedo recently turned 18 and already brings two years of single-seater experience into the programme. Those seasons provided him with a solid foundation as he prepares for the step up to the more powerful and technically demanding Formula Regional machinery.

As he begins this new chapter of his career, Macedo will aim to establish himself quickly within the championship and challenge the established front runners.

Balanced line-up for the 2026 campaign

With Gowda providing returning experience and Dupé and Macedo bringing fresh perspectives, Van Amersfoort Racing enters the 2026 season with a balanced driver line-up.

The combination of continuity and new talent reflects the team’s long-standing philosophy of developing young drivers while maintaining a competitive presence within the Formula Regional European Championship.
