Villorba Corse has officially launched a new chapter by confirming its “supported by Lamborghini” status, following the announcement of its partnership with Lamborghini. At the same time, the Italian team revealed its driver line-up for the 2026 International GT Open season. As a result, the team will field a #63 Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo2 in the Pro category, signalling clear intent to compete at the highest level.

Moncini and Testa lead Villorba Corse’s new Lamborghini-backed era in 2026 International GT Open

Villorba Corse has selected two promising young drivers: Italy’s Leonardo Moncini (22) and Portugal’s Rodrigo Testa (20). Both drivers already bring valuable experience from competitive GT championships.

Moncini, the son of 2010 Italian GT Championship winner Emanuele Moncini, has competed in series such as the GTWC Europe and the Italian GT Championship. Meanwhile, Testa has developed his career through the Lamborghini Super Trofeo and Italian GT competition. Both drivers have welcomed the opportunity and expressed enthusiasm for the upcoming season.

Moncini highlighted his excitement about joining the team and racing in the GT Open: “2026 marks my debut with Villorba Corse and in GT Open. I would like to thank Raimondo Amadio and I am honoured by this opportunity, which I will repay with maximum dedication. I have already had the chance to get to know most of the team and I am truly pleased with the immediate feeling and the atmosphere I found. Racing with a brand like Lamborghini, with the #63 car in a series such as the GT Open, will be exciting. I can’t wait to get started.”

Similarly, Testa reflected on his progression and ambitions: “I am very happy to start this new season with Villorba Corse and Lamborghini in GT Open. It will be my second year in GT3 after the Italian GT Endurance Championship, where we managed to achieve two important wins. I approach this programme with great motivation and the goal of continuing to grow as a driver. The level of GT Open is very high, but by working well with the team and with Leonardo we can be competitive throughout the season. I would also like to thank Lamborghini Genève for the support and starting in Portimão, in front of my home crowd, will make this debut even more special.”

Team leadership confident ahead of a promising season

Team Principal Raimondo Amadio has expressed strong confidence in the new line-up. He emphasised both the energy and potential that the young duo brings to the programme.

“With Leo and Rodrigo we have selected a young and well-matched crew capable of bringing fresh energy to Villorba Corse. They are the first two drivers who will accompany us in this initial phase of our programme as ‘supported by Lamborghini’ team. I am confident it will be a rich and exciting season. The objective is to work at our best and to allow these young talents to grow and showcase their skills. The 2026 season is now about to start; there is still work to be completed, but within the team the atmosphere is ideal and there is a strong sense of positivity. The enthusiasm of this young crew will allow us to tackle together the many challenges that lie ahead.”

Looking ahead, Villorba Corse combines youthful ambition with manufacturer backing to build a competitive platform. The partnership with Lamborghini strengthens the team’s technical and strategic foundation, while the pairing of Moncini and Testa introduces fresh energy.

Consequently, as the 2026 GT Open season approaches, Villorba Corse appears well-positioned to develop its drivers and challenge consistently in the Pro category.
