Italian racing team Villorba Corse has confirmed a major new chapter in its motorsport programme after announcing a multi-year partnership with Lamborghini. As part of the agreement, the team will return to GT3 competition in the 2026 season of the International GT Open.
The Treviso-based squad will campaign a Lamborghini Huracán GT3 Evo2 bearing the iconic car number 63, a number historically associated with Lamborghini in GT racing. The programme marks Villorba Corse’s official entry into Lamborghini’s motorsport ecosystem as a “supported by Lamborghini” team.
This partnership represents a strategic shift for the team. After several years running programmes with multiple manufacturers, Villorba Corse will now focus its entire racing operation around Lamborghini machinery.
A return to a championship with a strong history
The 2026 campaign will mark Villorba Corse’s return to the International GT Open, a championship where the team has previously enjoyed considerable success. Over the years, the Italian squad has secured notable victories and titles within the series, establishing a respected reputation in the paddock.
By re-entering the championship with a factory-supported Lamborghini programme, the team aims to build on that legacy while competing in one of Europe’s most competitive GT3 racing environments.
The entry also signals Lamborghini’s continued expansion in international GT competition through strong customer and partner teams.
Young drivers from Lamborghini programme step up to 2026 International GT Open with Villorba Corse
Villorba Corse will field a driver line-up composed entirely of young talents selected from Lamborghini’s GT3 Junior Driver Programme. The two drivers will represent the manufacturer’s next generation of professional GT racers, although the team has yet to confirm their identities.
Running the symbolic number 63 further highlights the close alignment between the team and the Italian manufacturer, reinforcing the brand’s presence within the GT Open grid.
The programme also serves as an important step for Lamborghini’s driver development structure, offering young racers a platform to gain experience in top-level GT3 competition.
Preparing for Lamborghini’s next-generation GT3
While the Huracán GT3 Evo2 will form the basis of the team’s initial programme, Villorba Corse is already looking toward the future of Lamborghini’s GT racing platform.
The team plans to adopt the upcoming Lamborghini Temerario GT3 once it becomes available. The car will represent Lamborghini’s next-generation GT3 model and will eventually replace the Huracán platform in international competition.
The introduction of the new model will mark the start of a new technological cycle for Lamborghini’s GT racing programmes, with Villorba Corse positioned as one of the teams involved in that transition.
Alongside its GT Open return, Villorba Corse will significantly expand its customer racing activities within Lamborghini’s motorsport ladder.
The team plans to continue competing in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo Europe with up to five Lamborghini Huracán Super Trofeo Evo2 entries. This series has already been a key element of the team’s recent operations and has helped it strengthen its presence in Lamborghini’s customer racing ecosystem.
In addition, Villorba Corse will make its debut in the GT Cup Europe with two entries, further expanding its competitive activities across multiple championships.
Long-term vision with Lamborghini
Team principal Raimondo Amadio emphasised the importance of the partnership and the opportunities it creates for the team’s future.
“We welcome with great optimism our agreement with Lamborghini Squadra Corse. After years in which our sporting activity spanned different programmes and manufacturers, we can now focus all our efforts on a single partnership with a constructor that has achieved extraordinary results over the past decade.
“We come from three seasons of strong collaboration in the Super Trofeo Europe, where Villorba Corse has increased its market share year after year and today unquestionably stands as one of the most structured teams in the field. Adding an international GT3 programme supported by the factory, in a series such as the GT Open, brings further prestige to a relationship we intend to build for the long term.
“The forthcoming arrival of the new Temerario GT3, followed by the Super Trofeo version, will open a new cycle that we are proud to be part of. For the entire team, taking on the challenges that now lie ahead will be truly exciting, and we are honoured to do so alongside Lamborghini”.
With factory support, a renewed GT3 programme and an expanded customer racing effort, Villorba Corse enters the 2026 season with ambitious plans and a long-term vision firmly aligned with Lamborghini’s global racing strategy.
