Maya Weug capped off the final day of in-season testing for F1 Academy at the Bahrain International Circuit by going six-for-six, topping the timesheets once again with the fastest overall lap. The Ferrari driver remained a consistent front-runner across all three days, setting a 2:04.150 in the morning session, six tenths ahead of her teammate Alba Larsen. She followed that up with a 2:04.922 in the afternoon, securing a dominant 1–2 finish for MP Motorsport.
Morning session
Aurelia Nobels set the early pace on Day 3 with a 2:06.200, but her time at the top was short-lived. Maya Weug soon reasserted herself at the front with a 2:04.873, continuing her dominant form after topping all previous sessions across the first two days of testing.
The Ferrari Academy driver kept pushing, lowering her benchmark to a 2:04.171 before delivering a final flying lap of 2:04.150 after 35 minutes, the fastest of the morning. Teammate Alba Larsen slotted in just behind with a 2:04.780, six tenths adrift.
As desert temperatures began to rise, the remainder of the morning session focused on mileage rather than outright pace, with no drivers able to challenge Weug’s benchmark. Larsen held P2, followed by Doriane Pin and Tina Hausmann in P3 and P4 respectively.
Lia Block completed the most mileage of the morning in-season testing session for the F1 Academy, logging 43 laps of the Bahrain International Circuit. Rounding out the top ten were Alisha Palmowski, Emma Felbermayr, Joanne Ciconte, Rafaela Ferreira, Nina Gademan, and Aurelia Nobels.
Afternoon session
Weug was first out at the green light, immediately setting the pace with a 2:05.172 on her opening flying lap. She quickly improved on her next attempt, lowering her time to 2:04.933 within the first 15 minutes of running.
Joined on track by Joanne Ciconte and Alba Larsen, Ciconte initially moved up to P2, 0.966 seconds behind Weug, before Larsen slotted between the two, just 0.474s off the benchmark. The second hour of testing remained relatively quiet, although Emma Felbermayr managed to close the gap further to four tenths.
As the session entered its final stages, Weug returned to the circuit and improved once again, setting a 2:04.922. Larsen responded with an improved lap of her own to stay close in P2, just two tenths adrift.
Despite late efforts across the field, no one could dislodge Weug from the top spot. Larsen remained in P2, with Felbermayr completing the top three, followed by Nobels, Palmowski, and Block in P4, P5, and P6 respectively.
When does F1 Academy return?
F1 Academy will return for Round 7 of the 2025 season in Las Vegas, running from November 20–22. Doriane Pin leads Maya Weug in the championship standings, but with only nine points separating the pair, the title fight remains wide open heading into the season finale.
