Wright Motorsports will field an expanded three-car GT3 programme in SRO America for 2026 GTWC America. The team will enter two full-season Pro-Am cars in GTWC America. Furthermore, they will enter one car in GT America Powered by AWS. All three cars will campaign the Porsche 911 GT3 R (992).
Through this expansion, Wright embarks on a bold new chapter in top-level GT3 competition while reinforcing its reputation as one of Porsche’s benchmark customer teams.
Musial Jr. and Yardley lead Pro-Am charge for Wright Motorsports in 2026 GTWC America
Dave Musial Jr. will partner Ryan Yardley in the No. 31 Porsche 911 GT3 R for the full seven-round GT World Challenge America season. Thus, the pairing builds on an established relationship after sharing a victory at Road Atlanta in Porsche Endurance Challenge North America competition.
For Musial Jr., the programme marks a significant progression as he commits to a full-season GT3 campaign in one of North America’s premier championships.
“I’m extremely excited to be driving with Ryan Yardley as my co-driver and to be joining Wright Motorsports for GT World Challenge America powered by AWS. We wanted to position ourselves with the very best, and we truly believe Wright is second to none. Their experience with the Porsche 911 GT3 R is unmatched, and what really stood out is that Adam Adelson isn’t just the team owner—he’s a hardcore racer like we are. He understands what it takes to win and how much of a team effort it is. After a lot of conversations with Adam and Bob, it was clear we share the same passion, the same drive, and the same goal: to be number one. We’re fired up for 2026 and can’t wait to see what we can accomplish together.”
Meanwhile, Yardley, the reigning Porsche Carrera Cup North America champion, arrives with strong credentials. Now, he continues his ascent within the Porsche development ladder as he steps into a full GT3 season with Wright.
“I’m super excited to be joining Wright Motorsports for the 2026 GT World Challenge America championship. It’s awesome to be continuing my relationship with Dave Musial Jr. and to be teaming up once again. I’m really looking forward to the step up from Carrera Cup into GT3 competition. Sonoma can’t come soon enough!”
Dave Musial targets GT America debut
Meanwhile, Dave Musial will contest the GT America championship in the SRO3 class aboard the No. 72 Porsche 911 GT3 R. Therefore, the single-driver sprint format introduces a fresh challenge as he prepares for his GT America debut after achieving titles in single-make championships.
“For 2026, my son and I wanted to put ourselves in the best possible position to contend for an SRO championship, and we knew that takes a total team effort. We evaluated a number of teams and completed testing, and we were honestly blown away by Wright Motorsports. The professionalism, preparation, and execution are next level. We’re truly excited and proud to be joining the Wright Motorsports program for 2026, and my goal is to match their standard as a driver the same way they deliver it as a team. We can’t wait to get the season started.”
Lahlouh and Merrill strengthen second Pro-Am entry for Wright Motorsports in 2026 GTWC America
As previously confirmed, Therese Lahlouh will undertake her first full-season GT3 campaign in the No. 242 Porsche 911 GT3 R in the Pro-Am class. She will once again partner experienced coach and racer Thomas Merrill.
“This will be my second year working with Thomas. I’m a developing driver, and it’s so important to have the right mentors. He’s really helped me to level up my driving and my mental game, and I feel like I’m in great hands with both Thomas and Wright Motorsports. He has proven again and again that he’s a smart, capable racer, but he’s also one of the best coaches available in motorsports today. He approaches coaching and co-driving with a comprehensive macro view that has accelerated my progress and given me the tools needed to succeed. Combined with Wright’s excellence and commitment to the program, I feel like I’ve found the right home and partners to continue my development.”
Merrill brings extensive SRO experience, including competition in GT4 America and at the Indianapolis 8 Hour. His ongoing working relationship with Lahlouh ensures continuity as she advances into GT3 competition.
“This will be a fun year with Therese and Wright Motorsports. Therese has worked really hard and come a long way in the past couple seasons to prepare for this next step in her career path. It’ll be a lot of fun to watch her continued growth in GT3 machinery. Adam, Bobby, and everyone at Wright are the cream of the crop and have been awesome to work with so far. Their knowledge of the Porsche GT3R Evo from their IMSA program will help us get up to speed quickly. Can’t wait for Sonoma!”
Seven-round campaign awaits
The 2026 SRO America season will span seven venues, beginning 27–29 March at Sonoma Raceway. The calendar will then visit Circuit of The Americas, Sebring International Raceway, Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, Road America and Barber Motorsports Park before concluding with the eight-hour endurance finale at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Thus, both GT World Challenge America entries will add a third driver for the season finale.
Therefore, with an expanded three-car GT3 effort and a blend of proven talent and emerging ambition, Wright Motorsports enters 2026 determined to fight for honours across every class it contests.
