FP2 at the 2026 F1 Australian GP has been completed, view the full results of the session here.
Lando Norris headed into the weekend as the defending race winner and World Champion. Max Verstappen finished P2 last year both in the race and championship. George Russell was P3 at Albert Park last year and is the title favourite for many heading into the 2026 campaign.
Oscar Piastri, home hero and championship leader for most of 2025, is looking to rebound from a heartbreaking moment last year as he slid out of podium contention in tricky conditions.
In FP1 earlier in the day, Charles Leclerc went quickest of all by almost half a second from teammate Lewis Hamilton. Red Bull and Audi also impressed. Mercedes and McLaren did not show their full hand.
Piastri, Norris, Albon, Alonso, Stroll and Lindblad had varying degrees of unreliability in the session.
Oscar Piastri pleased the home fans by going P1 in FP2.
