David Malukas was fastest in morning practice and repeated that feat in qualifying, scoring his first ever IndyCar pole position. Felix Rosenqvist had to sit out qualifying after his crash in practice.
Malukas’ team mate Will Power also failed to set a time, as he crashed out during his attempt.
