Audi-backed Emma Felbermayr delivered a flawless performance to take victory in Race 2 at the 2026 F1 Chinese GP, view the results here.
After securing their best qualifying results on Friday, Alisha Palmowski and Alba Larsen started from the front row, both aiming to claim their first podium, or win, of the season. However, as the lights went out, Larsen made a great launch off the line and led the pack down to Turn 1, while Emma Felbermayr moved into 2nd as Palmowski reacted slowly off the line.
Yesterday’s podium finisher Natalia Granada unfortunately suffered front-wing damage following her battles in the early stages of the race. Meanwhile, attention shifted to the three-way fight between Felbermayr, Palmowski and Payton Westcott, who battled for 2nd and 3rd.
The race’s first retirements came shortly after when Jade Jacquet ran into the back of Esmee Kosterman, bringing out the safety car and neutralising the race. At the restart, Larsen, who had been leading the race strongly, ran off the track and through the gravel, dropping down the order.
As it stood, Felbermayr led the way, with Palmowski and Westcott completing the podium. Rachel Robertson and wildcard entry Shi Wei were the next drivers to be involved in an incident as both drivers spun around. Both drivers then retired from the race.
However, with two laps remaining, a yellow flag stayed out. However, out in front, Felbermayr claimed a well-deserved victory, with Palmowski and Westcott completing the podium.
