The Euroformula and International GT Open Championships have confirmed its provisional calendar for the 2026 season, maintaining an eight-round championship while introducing a new venue to the schedule. The Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli will join the series for the first time, marking a notable addition to an otherwise stable calendar.
GT Sport revealed the calendar alongside those for its other championships, the GT Cup Europe. While the overall structure of the season remains unchanged, the inclusion of Misano and a slight adjustment to the final round highlight the main updates for 2026.
Misano added as new venue on 2026 Euroformula and International GT Open calendar
The most significant change for the upcoming season is the addition of the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli in Misano Adriatico, Italy. The championship will visit the Italian venue on the weekend of 5–7 June.
This event will represent the first appearance of the circuit on the Euroformula Open calendar. Misano will also host the International GT Open and GT Cup Europe during the same race weekend, bringing all three GT Sport series together at the venue.
The circuit, located on Italy’s Adriatic coast, has built a strong reputation through major international motorsport and motorcycle events. Its debut in the championship adds another technical and challenging venue for drivers and teams.
Stable eight-round championship
Despite the addition of Misano, the 2026 Euroformula Open season keeps its familiar format with eight rounds across Europe. The series will continue to visit several well-established circuits that have become staples of the championship.
The season will open in April at the Autódromo do Algarve in Portimão, Portugal, before moving to Belgium’s Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps in May. After the new Misano round in June, the championship will head to Hungary’s Hungaroring in early July.
Later in July, teams will travel to France’s Circuit Paul Ricard before the championship resumes after the summer break at Germany’s Hockenheimring in September. The series will then race at the Autodromo Nazionale di Monza before concluding the season in Spain.
Barcelona finale moved to October
GT Sport has also confirmed a small change to the calendar. Organisers moved the season finale at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya one week later than originally planned. The final round will now take place from 23–25 October 2026. Officials implemented the change to avoid clashes with other international motorsport events.
Barcelona will once again host the decisive round of the championship, continuing its long-standing role as the closing venue for the series.
Pre-season winter test confirmed
Teams will begin preparations for the new season during the official winter test at Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya. The test will take place on 20–21 March 2026 and will provide drivers with an early opportunity to evaluate performance before the opening round.
The two-day test traditionally attracts the majority of the grid and offers teams valuable mileage ahead of the competitive season.
