Italian team G_Motorsport will join the Euroformula Open grid in 2026, marking a significant step in the squad’s expansion into international motorsport.

The Modena-based team has confirmed that it plans to enter the championship with a two-car programme. The move signals the team’s ambition to build on its strong domestic record and compete on a broader European stage.

Over the past several seasons, G_Motorsport has established itself as one of the most competitive teams in Italian single-seater racing. The team achieved remarkable success in the FX2 Championship, where it secured five titles within six years.

This consistent performance has helped the squad build a reputation for strong technical preparation and effective race management. As a result, the step into Euroformula Open represents a natural progression for the organisation.

Moreover, the championship provides a platform where the team can test its capabilities against experienced international competitors while continuing its development with modern Formula 3 machinery.

Team Principal Andrea Giannetta emphasised that the team has prepared carefully for the move into the championship.

“We are ready and determined to take on this new challenge in the Euroformula Open. Over the past few months, we have prepared with great meticulousness, conducting several test sessions that have yielded positive results and very encouraging results. Our team has always stood out for its attention to detail, and this has allowed us to achieve several successes at the national level over the years. Now we want to look beyond our borders, and the reality organized by GT Sport seems like the ideal context in which to do so: we have gained extensive experience in managing Formula 3 single-seaters, and the 324 model also represents a highly competitive and stimulating challenge for us to tackle”.

His comments underline the extensive preparation that the team has undertaken ahead of its international debut. Through multiple testing programmes, the team has worked to ensure it arrives on the grid ready to compete.

GT Sport welcomes new entrant

Championship promoter Jesús Pareja also welcomed the Italian team’s decision to join the series organised by GT Sport.

“We are delighted to elcome an enthusiqstic qnd professional team such as G_Motorsport amomg the Euroformula contenders. We are happy they have opted for the EO to make their international debut. G_Motorsport have proven successful in every series they have competed so far and have experience with Dallara machinery. We are sure they will adapt quickly and will aim at doing well in our series”.

Pareja’s statement reflects the organisers’ confidence that the team will integrate quickly into the championship environment.
