Competitive downhill mountain biker Aidan Schuh has made a striking career move, transitioning from two wheels to four. Schuh now joins AJ Foyt Racing in partnership with Crosslink Motorsports to compete in the 2026 Formula Regional Americas Championship (FRAC) season.
This step marks a major milestone in Schuh’s development as he enters professional single-seater racing.

Schuh will drive the iconic No. 14 car while representing Homes For Our Troops throughout the season. His campaign will highlight the organisation’s mission to support severely injured post-9/11 veterans.
Schuh’s car will feature a red, white and blue livery inspired by the No. 14 entry in the NTT INDYCAR Series, driven by Santino Ferrucci. This visual link strengthens the connection between his programme and AJ Foyt Racing’s top-tier efforts.
“I’m incredibly proud to represent Homes For Our Troops in my first professional season, driving the iconic No. 14 as we celebrate America’s 250th anniversary,” said the 22-year-old Schuh. “This program is about more than racing—it’s about honoring our veterans at every stop and bringing their stories to fans across the country. Carrying the American flag on our car all season is a privilege that means everything to me.”
Strong backing from AJ Foyt Racing
The partnership between AJ Foyt Racing and Crosslink Motorsports forms part of a wider expansion of the team’s driver development programme. This initiative also includes the INDY NXT by Firestone ladder.
Team President Larry Foyt expressed confidence in the young driver’s potential, saying, “We are thrilled to have Aiden become part of the AJ Foyt Racing family. The FR Americas Championship is an excellent place for a driver to begin developing their skill, and we are looking forward to seeing his natural talent and ability grow this season.”
Early promise and intensive preparation
Before stepping into FR Americas, Schuh gained valuable experience with Crosslink Motorsports. Notably, he secured a third-place podium at Buttonwillow Raceway Park during the Formula Pro USA Western Championships.
In addition, he participated in a USF Pro 2000 testing day, where he adapted quickly to high downforce machinery. Over the off-season, he completed an extensive testing programme across multiple circuits in a Formula Regional car.
Team owner Gill Kaszuba highlighted Schuh’s progress, saying, “We welcome Aidan to the team for 2026 and look forward to providing him the opportunity and tools to develop the necessary skillset to become a motorsports champion. Making the switch from competitive downhill mountain biking to Formula cars is a big transition, but Aidan has shown tremendous adaptability. While Aidan is continuing to develop his knowledge and gain experience as a racing driver, his podium at Buttonwillow, albeit in a smaller class, proved he can compete right away. His attitude and work ethic during testing have been excellent and we are excited to help guide him through his rookie season in FR Americas.”
Schuh will make his FR Americas debut from 9–12 April at NOLA Motorsports Park, located near New Orleans. He already completed pre-season testing at the same venue, giving him valuable track familiarity ahead of the opening round.
Looking ahead
With promising early results and a rigorous preparation programme behind him, Schuh now focuses on building momentum throughout his rookie campaign. As a result, the 2026 season offers a crucial platform for him to refine his skills and establish himself in single-seater racing.
