Divy Nandan has taken a significant step in his career by joining the 2026 Euroformula Open Championship with BVM Racing. Competing at Portimão in the Dallara #4, he aims to secure a full-season campaign in the competitive European series.

In doing so, Nandan becomes only the fourth Indian driver to compete in Euroformula, following Ameya Vaidyanathan, Tarun Reddy, and Mahaveer Raghunathan.

An unconventional start in motorsport ahead of move to Europe

Unlike many of his peers, Nandan began karting relatively late at the age of 17. However, under the mentorship of Narain Karthikeyan at his racing academy, he quickly made up for lost time.

He progressed rapidly through India’s junior racing categories, delivering strong performances in both MRF F2000 and MRF 1600. His development continued with a fourth-place finish in the Indian Formula 4 Championship in 2024, highlighting his growing potential.

In 2025, Nandan made the crucial move to Europe, competing in the GB3 Championship. Although he faced challenges during his debut season, the experience proved invaluable in adapting to new circuits and a higher level of competition.

Now, Euroformula Open represents the next stage in his progression, offering a platform to build on that experience and further refine his skills.

Nandan approaches this new opportunity with optimism and determination. Reflecting on his move, he said: “I am very happy to be racing with BVM here and for the rest of the season, as we are working to finalize the deal. I really look forward to the season. The Winter Test in Barcelona was very positive and fruitful for me. Last year, in my first season in Europe, in the GB3, I struggled a bit, but I feel much more comfortable with the environment here in the Euroformula and with GB3. The car is very nice to drive and the tracks are amazing. I am really excited and determined to do well.”

As Nandan continues his journey, his rapid development stands out. Despite a late start, he has quickly climbed the motorsport ladder and now competes on the European stage. With strong mentorship, increasing experience, and clear determination, the 2026 Euroformula Open season could prove to be a defining chapter in his career.
