French driver Romuald Bocquet will step up to the GB4 Championship in 2026, as he joins Scorpio Motorsport for his debut season. The 22-year-old arrives with valuable single-seater experience, and he now aims to translate that knowledge into consistent performances on the British stage.

Moreover, his move marks a significant progression in his racing career, as he transitions from Formula 4 machinery into the competitive GB4 environment.

Building foundations in Formula 4

Previously, Bocquet competed in the F4 Central European Zone (CEZ) Championship, where he gained crucial experience despite an injury-interrupted campaign. Nevertheless, he demonstrated his potential by securing a top-10 finish at the Red Bull Ring.

In addition, he strengthened his racing credentials by reaching the semi-finals of the 2024 Feed Racing competition. These achievements, combined with his earlier karting experience in the IAME Euro Series, underline a steady and determined rise through the ranks.

Crucially, Bocquet has already built momentum with Scorpio Motorsport. Following several test sessions in the Tatuus MSV GB4-025 car since the end of last season, he has developed both confidence and familiarity with the team. As a result, the partnership enters the 2026 season with optimism and clear expectations on both sides.

Bocquet said: “I am pleased to announce that I signed with Scorpio for the 2026 GB4 season. From the minute I met the Scorpio team, I knew we were going to share a part of my racing career together.

“After four days of testing in October, I am 100% convinced that we can achieve great things in 2026, and I’m also really excited to race the GB4 cars, which, from what I’ve experienced so far, seems like a fantastic chassis to race. A huge thanks to the whole Scorpio team, Samuele Rosei and of course, my family. Let’s get it!”

Team confidence and expectations

At the same time, Scorpio Motorsport has expressed strong confidence in their new driver. Co-owner Jon Pettitt highlighted Bocquet’s immediate adaptability and technical understanding during early tests. Importantly, the team believes his feedback and pace will prove vital as the season unfolds.

Pettitt commented, “We are delighted as a team to have Romuald join us for the 2026 championship. We had a few very encouraging tests last autumn, and it was obvious immediately that Romuald would adapt quickly to the GB4 chassis. His early feedback on car characteristics, set up changes and pace were on point. He was the perfect fit for Scorpio and the team gelled well with him. I’m more than excited to see his progression throughout the season.”

Ultimately, Bocquet enters the 2026 GB4 Championship with a solid foundation and clear ambition. Given his prior experience and promising test performances, he now has the opportunity to establish himself as a competitive force.

As the season approaches, both driver and team appear aligned in their goals—progress, consistency, and success on track.
