Luke Hilton produced a standout performance in GB4 Qualifying at the Silverstone Circuit, securing both pole positions for the opening weekend of the 2026 season. The Nitrous Competitions ADM Racing driver set the pace in both runs, first posting a 2m00.560s to top the Race 1 grid before improving to 2m00.629s on his second-best effort to also lead the Race 2 grid. As a result, Hilton emerged as the only driver to consistently head both classifications across a highly competitive field.

Importantly, the sessions featured 29 cars, marking one of GB4’s largest grids and immediately underlining the depth of competition. Moreover, the margins at the front remained extremely tight, with multiple drivers separated by mere hundredths of a second.

2026 GB4: Silverstone: Qualifying 1: Hilton edges Green in tight fight

The opening Qualifying session delivered an intense battle at the front, with Hilton narrowly overcoming Fred Green of Elite Motorsport. Green remained in contention throughout but ultimately finished 0.078 seconds behind.

Meanwhile, Alex O’Grady secured third place for KMR Sport after a late push, just 0.091 seconds off pole. Behind him, Enzo Hallman and Emmilio Valentino Del Grosso completed a tightly packed top five.

Furthermore, the session remained exceptionally close throughout the top ten, with less than one second separating the leading group. Consequently, even minor improvements in sector times had a major impact on track position.

In addition, the top ten once again remained tightly compressed, with less than 1.1 seconds covering the leading group. Therefore, Race 2 promises a similarly competitive fight across the field.

Tight margins set up a wide-open weekend

Hilton’s double pole position marks a major statement at the start of the GB4 season. However, the exceptionally small gaps across both Qualifying sessions highlight how little separates the front runners.

Green consistently pushed the pole-sitter to the limit, while O’Grady, Hallman and Del Grosso all remained firmly within striking distance. Furthermore, the depth of the field ensured that both grids remained highly compressed from front to back.

As a result, although Hilton holds the best possible starting positions, neither race appears straightforward. Instead, tyre management, race starts and consistency will likely determine who emerges victorious in what promises to be a highly competitive season opener at Silverstone.
