With 40 minutes on the clock, Formula E’s second practice at Tempelhof was on. As the drivers trickled out of the pit lane, they began their warm-up laps. Nico Müller was the last driver to aim for a flying lap.

The first 10 minutes saw Nyck De Vries on top with a 0:58:980, going faster than the quickest time set in FP1. Taylor Barnard took the top spot back before being knocked down by Sebastien Buemi, who went a second faster.

Halfway point of FP2

The gaps were narrow for the first half of the practice session. All 20 Formula E drivers went under the one-minute mark and kept improving throughout. With tiny margins and everyone trying to maximise the tyre temperature, the pressure was on. The rising temperature of the track meant that the conditions continued to evolve throughout the weekend.

Da Costa was on top while Di Grassi had gone the slowest when the halfway point hit. The new benchmark was 0:57:680, set by the Portuguese driver. Still, there was plenty of time left for others to attempt to improve.

Last laps to improve in FP2 at the Berlin E-Prix

After a relatively quiet session, the racers went in for a last fast lap. The Porsche Formula E team had hoped to see themselves on top on home soil. However, the German outfit was forced to wait for another session to see themselves higher up.

As the minutes trickled down to a few, everyone went all-in for their final lap. The FP2 session came to an end with few mistakes despite a couple of close brushes with the walls. The last minute saw Wehrlein touch the wall, but he managed to finish without significant damage.

When the chequered flag was waved, Da Costa had shaved down his time to 0:57:357. He was followed by Verne in second and Drugovich in third.
