The 2026 F1 Miami GP Sprint has been completed, view the full Championship standings after the race. Kimi Antonelli and Mercedes headed into it as leaders.
McLaren domination
Starting from pole position, Lando Norris took out the Sprint win in dominant fashion, comfortably leading home Oscar Piastri in a McLaren 1-2. Charles Leclerc put pressure on the Aussie throughout it but lacked the necessary grunt on the straight to try and make a pass.
Despite finishing P4 on the road, Kimi Antonelli would drop down two spots as he picked up a five-second time penalty for exceeding track limits once too often. That moved George Russell and Max Verstappen up to 4th and 5th.
Lewis Hamilton and Pierre Gasly rounded out the points scorers, with Isack Hadjar and Franco Colapinto completing the top 10.
As for the championship, McLaren gained seven points on Ferrari and on Mercedes, with the Woking-based squad demonstrating a huge step forward. Red Bull Racing moved ahead of Haas and Alpine thanks to a strong P5 for Max Verstappen in the Sprint.
The Enstone-based squad also made gains, going within a point of Haas. It is likely they will move ahead if the race begins tomorrow.
In the Drivers’ Championship, George Russell gained two points on Kimi Antonelli to reduce his deficit to seven overall.
