Noel León claimed victory in a chaotic F2 Sprint Race at the 2026 Canadian GP after a composed drive through multiple Safety Car interruptions, penalties and late-race drama. Gabriele Minì led the early stages from pole, but León kept the pressure on before seizing the lead and pulling clear in the closing laps.

Minì held the lead at the start, while Villagómez made a poor getaway and quickly came under pressure. However, León moved past him first, before Dürksen charged through to take P2 after passing Bennett, León and Villagómez.

As Minì built a gap of around two seconds, a DRS train formed behind him. Meanwhile, León and Dürksen traded second, with Villagómez and Bennett joining the fight. Further back, Tsolov battled Fittipaldi Jr. and later passed Varrone for P7, while Câmara, Maini, Bilinski and Beganovic scrapped in the midfield.

The race changed on Lap 10 when Stenshorne and Bennett made contact. Bennett stopped with damage, which brought out the Safety Car. Minì controlled the Lap 15 restart, but León attacked immediately and ran side-by-side with him.

Behind them, Villagómez passed Dürksen for P3, while Dürksen received a five-second penalty. Stenshorne then moved past Dürksen, before Tsolov also battled through. On Lap 18, Dürksen spun after contact with Dunne, and León used the moment to pass Minì for the lead before another Safety Car followed.

After the Lap 22 restart, León opened a 1.3-second lead. Race Control then gave Dunne a 10-second penalty for his clash with Dürksen, while Tsolov also received a 10-second penalty for earlier contact with Bennett.

More chaos followed on Lap 25, as Villagómez hit the wall and retired. Varrone and Shields also collided, forcing Shields out and triggering a Virtual Safety Car. When racing resumed, León pulled clear and crossed the line over three seconds ahead of Maini.
