Forestier Racing by Panis topped the LMP2 order after Hyperpole at the 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans, while Mattia Drudi delivered a commanding LMGT3 pole for Heart of Racing Team.

Esteban Masson set the fastest LMP2 time in Hyperpole 2, placing the #29 Forestier Racing by Panis Oreca 07-Gibson at the head of the class with a 3:32.855. The lap put him 0.387s clear of Job van Uitert in the #28 IDEC Sport entry.

In LMGT3, Drudi was the clear standout. The Italian placed the #27 Heart of Racing Team Aston Martin Vantage AMR LMGT3 on pole with a 3:52.433, finishing 0.979s ahead of Alessio Rovera’s #21 Vista AF Corse Ferrari.

LMP2: Inter Europol leads Hyperpole 1 before Masson takes control

Hyperpole 1 reduced the LMP2 field from 15 cars to the ten that would contest the final pole shootout.

Tom Dillmann led the way for Inter Europol Competition, setting a 3:33.762 in the #43 Oreca 07-Gibson. He finished 0.127s clear of Alex Quinn in the #4 CrowdStrike Racing by APR entry, while Forestier Racing by Panis also progressed comfortably with the #29 car third on a 3:34.108.

The second Inter Europol car, the #343 entry, also made it through in fourth. TDS Racing followed in fifth, ahead of IDEC Sport, AF Corse, Duqueine Team, AO by TF, and Nielsen Racing.

However, there was frustration for United Autosports. Both of its cars missed the cut, with the #22 entry 11th and the #222 entry 12th. Vector Sport, CLX Motorsport, and Proton Competition were also eliminated before Hyperpole 2.

Hyperpole 2: Forestier Racing by Panis tops LMP2

In Hyperpole 2, Masson delivered the decisive LMP2 lap.

The Frenchman produced a 3:32.855 in the #29 Forestier Racing by Panis Oreca, improving by more than a second from the team’s Hyperpole 1 time. His lap came on his fourth tour and stood as the fastest overall time from the combined LMP2 and LMGT3 Hyperpole 2 session.

Van Uitert placed IDEC Sport second with a 3:33.242, while Jack Doohan put Nielsen Racing third with a 3:33.510. Inter Europol Competition followed in fourth with the #43 car, ahead of the #4 CrowdStrike Racing by APR entry.

Duqueine Team secured sixth, while TDS Racing, AO by TF, AF Corse, and the #343 Inter Europol Competition car completed the LMP2 Hyperpole 2 top ten.

LMGT3: Heart of Racing controls Hyperpole

In LMGT3, Heart of Racing Team established itself as the team to beat from Hyperpole 1.

Drudi set the class pace with a 3:53.166 in the #27 Aston Martin, finishing 0.171s clear of Augusto Farfus in the #32 Team WRT BMW. Manthey DK Engineering completed the top three with the #91 Porsche, while the second Heart of Racing Aston Martin also advanced in fourth.

Akkodis ASP Team placed both Lexus entries inside the top six, while Proton Competition, Vista AF Corse, Kessel Racing, and Team WRT also made the final shootout.

The cars eliminated after Hyperpole 1 included the #88 Proton Competition Ford Mustang, the #62 Team Qatar by Iron Lynx Mercedes-AMG, the #61 Iron Lynx Mercedes-AMG, the #54 Vista AF Corse Ferrari, and the #92 The Bend Manthey Porsche.

Hyperpole 2: Drudi dominates for Heart of Racing

Drudi then improved further in Hyperpole 2 to secure LMGT3 pole in decisive fashion.

The Italian set a 3:52.433 in the #27 Heart of Racing Aston Martin, finishing almost a full second clear of the rest of the class. His lap was also listed as the LMGT3 circuit best lap on the Hyperpole 2 classification.

Rovera placed the #21 Vista AF Corse Ferrari second, while José María López secured third for Akkodis ASP Team in the #87 Lexus. The sister #78 Lexus followed in fourth, giving Akkodis ASP two cars inside the top four.

Team WRT placed both BMW M4 LMGT3 Evos inside the top six, with the #32 fifth and the #69 sixth. Kessel Racing, the second Heart of Racing Aston Martin, Manthey DK Engineering, and Proton Competition completed the LMGT3 top ten.

FP4 next at Le Mans

The next session will be FP4, which runs from 23:00 until midnight local time.

After a dramatic Hyperpole evening, the LMP2 and LMGT3 fields will return to the Circuit de la Sarthe for their final night running before the race. Forestier Racing by Panis and Heart of Racing will carry pole-position momentum into the closing stages of preparation, while the rest of the field will focus on long-run balance, traffic management, night visibility and race setup.

The final hour of practice will give teams one last chance to evaluate their cars in darkness before Friday’s Drivers’ Parade and Saturday’s warm-up. The 2026 24 Hours of Le Mans is scheduled to begin at 16:00 local time on Saturday, 13 June.
