Race 2 of the Formula E Shanghai E-Prix began under a safety car as wet track conditions returned to the Shanghai International Circuit. However, Lap 4 saw a standing start with Drugovich gettting off to a strong start, while several drivers opted to serve their first Attack Mode at Turn 2.
Early Attack Mode drivers briefly swapped the race lead before Wehrlein was able to keep P1 with his Porsche Teammate Nico Müller behind in P2. Further back, Edoardo Mortara and Sébastien Buemi closely battled for P6, while António Felix da Costa made contact with Oliver Rowland, leaving da Costa with front wing damage.
With ten laps remaining, Sébastien Buemi held an energy advantage over his rivals in the top ten, taking his second Attack Mode on Lap 19. Notably, his Envision Racing teammate Joel Eriksson remained close behind. Running P1 and P2, Porsche quickly responded, with Müller also taking his second Attack Mode.
Eriksson charge past, taking the race lead before Zane Maloney stopped on the main straight. A delayed Full Course Yellow was deployed on Lap 24 as Eriksson took his final Attack Mode and Lucas Di Grassi set the fastest lap, making his way up to P3.
The race resumed on Lap 25, with the top three closely fighting for the lead, before Lucas Di Grassi lunged to take Lola Yamaha’s first win in the Formula E championship.
