Formula E returns on track for the penultimate time of the 2025/2026 season, as drivers get ready for FP1 and their results in Tokyo. Round 14 and Round 15 will feature night-time racing in Japan under HVO-powered lights for the first time since the debut of the circuit on the FE calendar back in 2024.
Formula E will remember Citroën Racing Team Principal Cyril Blais following its passing earlier this week, at a location where the team led by the Monaco Sports Group has been extremely successful over the past few years. In fact, under the Maserati MSG vessel, both Maximilian Guenther and Stoffel Vandoorne had secured race wins.
Following the last double header racing weekend in Shanghai, Pascal Wehrlein has taken the lead of the championship standings, surpassing Mitch Evans and Oliver Rowland. The battle for the title begins to intensify, with the chances of Formula E having a second two times World Champion increasing more and more.
A rain delay caused the session to start fifteen minutes later, with the allotted track time proceeding smoothly without no major crashes under the Japanese lights.
