FP2 at the 2026 F1 Hungarian GP has been completed, view the full results from the session here.
In FP1 earlier in the day, Charles Leclerc was quickest for Scuderia Ferrari but stopped in the pits late in the session with some gremlin in his car. Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton rounded out the top 3. Hadjar, Russell, Bortoleto, Vesti, Hülkenberg, Lindblad and Lawson completed the top 10.
Of the rookies, Vesti led the way in P7. He was 0.401s slower than Russell in the other Mercedes. Fornaroli (P16), Hirakawa (P17), Aron (P19) and Herta (P20) was where the rest finished. The Italian and 2025 F2 champion was impressive on the medium but did not get a clean lap in on softs.
For Lance Stroll, he had a massive spin out of turn 2 thanks to a suspension failure on the left rear corner of his AMR26. His car would not appear in the second session as he missed out on very valuable running with the team having brought a monumental amount of updates to this event.
Kimi Antonelli, Valtteri Bottas, Oscar Piastri, Franco Colapinto and Ollie Bearman returned to their cars after missing out on FP1 because of mandatory rookie running.
