For the final time of the 2025/2026 season, Nissan Formula E braces itself for an intense double header in London, aiming at securing a second Formula E driver title. In fact, albeit Oliver Rowland sits in fourth place, he is only fourteen points away from championship leader Jake Dennis.
Rowland not a fan of the London track, but ready to pounce
Consequently, the Brit has even more reasons to anticipate his home track outing, while looking back to the ending season rather positively. Nissan ‘s Rowland thanked the team for the high level of performance displayed throughout the year ahead of the London Formula E round.
“I’m looking forward to getting back on track at my home race and doing all we can to overcome the deficit in the title battle. I feel like we’ve maximized our potential this year, we haven’t always had the quickest car, but we’ve managed to be in the fight until the end.”
“ Historically London hasn’t been our best track, it’s low grip and bumpy although it’s really fun to push to the limits in qualifying. Formula E is unpredictable, so we’ll prepare like we always do and put ourselves in the best possible position heading into the weekend.”
Nato looks forward to another positive performance
At the other side of the garage, Norman Nato might not be as satisfied with his current season as his teammate. However, the Frenchman finally managed to break a six race points hiatus in the second Tokyo race, securing a strong P6.
The goal will definitely be to try and build on the latest performance so as to conclude the season on an higher note. Nato also expressed his joy in returning with Nissan to the peculiar London Formula E track at ExCel, as he said:
“London is always an eventful race. It’s a fun but challenging circuit, overtakes are difficult so qualifying will carry extra importance. The semi-indoor layout is unique and it’s very cool to drive there. Our goal remains the same, we’ll do our best in preparation to begin the weekend positively and from there we’ll aim to finish the season with strong points.”
Volpe discusses Nissan ‘s Formula E championship goal ahead of the London double header
Nissan Formula E Team Principal Tommaso Volpe too summed up the highlights of the season approaching the London finale, thanking everyone involved and remarking his hopes for another title.
“Season 12 has been a challenging one for us, with plenty of ups and downs, but thanks to the hard work of the entire team we arrive at the final race weekend fighting for a second consecutive Drivers’ World Championship with Oliver. This season has shown once again how competitive Formula E has become, and the fact that the championship will be decided in the final double-header is proof of that.”
“London is always a special event for us. The UK is a very important market for Nissan, and racing in front of our fans and partners at the season finale makes it even more significant. As we come to the end of the GEN3 era, it’s great that the championship fight will go all the way to the final weekend. London is one of the most complex tracks on the calendar, and with two races left and such a close battle for the Drivers’ title, it should be an exciting finish to the season.”
