Enzo Hallman topped the final two Thursday testing sessions to end the opening day of the 2026 GB4 Championship’s Round 5 weekend in Snetterton fastest overall.
The Hillspeed driver set a 1m48.624s lap during Session 4, placing him just 0.095s ahead of Fortec Motorsports’ Thomas Ingram Hill. Elite Motorsport’s Fred Green completed the top three, 0.223s away from Hallman’s benchmark.
Ingram Hill leads opening two sessions
Ingram Hill immediately established himself at the front by setting the fastest time during Thursday morning’s opening 30-minute session.
The Silverstone Race 2 winner recorded a 1m48.719s lap to lead Green by 0.128s, while Pace Performance’s John O’Donnell followed another 0.116s behind in third.
Ingram Hill remained fastest in Session 2 with a 1m49.106s effort. Championship leader Alex O’Grady closed to within just 0.031s, while Douglas Motorsport’s Conor Grant took third. Torrin Byrne and Dayton Coulthard completed a tightly packed top five, with only 0.177s covering the leading five drivers.
However, Ingram Hill’s Session 1 time ultimately proved his best of the day and left him second in the combined classification.
Hallman takes control during afternoon running
Hallman moved to the top as temperatures increased during the afternoon, leading Session 3 with a 1m49.034s lap.
The Swede finished 0.206s ahead of Ingram Hill, while Scorpio Motorsport’s Archie Davies climbed to third. Connor Willis put the second Hillspeed car fourth ahead of Coulthard.
Hallman then improved significantly during the fourth and final session.
He produced his 1m48.624s benchmark on his fourth lap and remained fastest for the rest of the session. Ingram Hill also improved late in the day but finished 0.161s behind Hallman in Session 4 and 0.095s behind in the combined order.
Coulthard saved his strongest performance for the final session as well, setting a 1m48.956s lap. However, Green’s quicker morning effort kept the Elite Motorsport driver third overall, leaving Coulthard fourth in the combined classification.
O’Donnell narrowly misses combined top four
O’Donnell’s strong opening-session performance proved enough to secure fifth overall.
The American-Korean contender set a 1m48.963s lap during Session 1 and finished only 0.007s behind Coulthard in the combined order.
Championship leader O’Grady followed in sixth with his 1m49.137s Session 2 lap. Grant and Byrne also relied on their second-session times to take seventh and eighth respectively.
Elite Motorsport’s Matan Achituv and Hillspeed’s Silverstone Race 3 winner Willis completed the top 10 after both produced their best laps during the final session.
Top 14 separated by less than one second
The opening day produced another closely matched GB4 field around the Snetterton 300 circuit.
Only 0.784s separated Hallman from Willis in 10th, while the leading 14 drivers all finished within one second of the Hillspeed driver’s benchmark.
Charlie Smith took 11th overall ahead of Joshua McLean, Davies and leading rookie Franciszek Cegielski.
Further down the order, Demitri Nolan finished 16th, while Romuald Bocquet, Archie Bullard and Faris Organji occupied positions 17 through 19.
The four official session classifications showed sunny and dry conditions throughout Thursday’s running.
Testing resumes on Friday with three further 30-minute sessions at 09:35, 13:15 and 17:00 BST before Qualifying and Race 1 take place on Saturday.
