Evagoras Papasavvas will return to Formula Regional Americas Championship (FRAC) action at New Jersey Motorsports Park (NJMP) as the championship leader prepares for Rounds 12, 13 and 14 of the 2026 season.
The Crosslink Motorsports driver heads to the 2.25-mile, 12-turn Thunderbolt Course with another opportunity to strengthen his position at the top of the standings. With the championship entering a crucial stage, the three-race weekend offers a maximum of 75 points and could significantly influence the title battle.
Papasavvas has built his championship-leading campaign around consistent front-running performances throughout the season. Now, with the second half underway, he and Crosslink will aim to maintain that approach while pursuing another strong points haul in New Jersey.
Papasavvas targets consistency across three-race weekend
Papasavvas enters New Jersey with the championship lead, but the triple-header format will place significant emphasis on consistency.
Three races give him multiple opportunities to extend his advantage, although they also increase the potential consequences of a poor result. Therefore, Papasavvas plans to approach the weekend session by session rather than focusing solely on the overall championship picture.
“I’m confident we have the tools and skills to deliver in New Jersey,” commented Papasavvas. “We’ve continued to work hard throughout the season, and our focus is on maximizing every session and scoring as many points as possible. As always, three races in one weekend means that consistency will be key. We’ll take the weekend one session at a time and do everything we can to come away with a strong result.”
That approach has already served Papasavvas well during the opening half of the campaign. As the remaining opportunities to score points begin to decrease, maintaining that consistency will become even more important.
Crosslink continues FR Americas title pursuit
Crosslink Motorsports will once again support Papasavvas as the team continues its pursuit of the 2026 FR Americas championship.
The partnership has established itself at the front of the field throughout the season, allowing Papasavvas to build a championship lead before the series reaches its closing stages.
New Jersey now presents another opportunity to refine that combination. Friday’s full day of testing will give Papasavvas and his engineers considerable track time before the competitive sessions begin, allowing them to evaluate set-up changes and prepare the Ligier for the demands of the Thunderbolt Course.
With three races scheduled across Saturday and Sunday, finding a car that performs consistently throughout the weekend could prove particularly valuable.
Thunderbolt Course provides next challenge
New Jersey Motorsports Park’s Thunderbolt Course measures 2.25 miles and features 12 turns, creating a different challenge from the circuits that FR Americas has visited earlier in the season.
The relatively compact layout places additional importance on Qualifying, where small margins can separate several drivers. Track position will also carry considerable value during the races, making Friday preparation particularly important.
For Papasavvas, the circuit represents another step in his broader progression through the American single-seater ladder. His championship position has placed him firmly in the spotlight, but New Jersey gives him another opportunity to demonstrate both outright pace and race management.
Maximum 75 points available at NJMP
The championship implications add another layer of importance to the weekend.
With 25 points available for each victory, Papasavvas can score a maximum of 75 across Rounds 12, 13 and 14. However, the same opportunity applies to his closest rivals, meaning one difficult race could quickly alter the standings.
As a result, Papasavvas has emphasised maximising every session rather than taking unnecessary risks. Strong Qualifying positions, clean opening laps and consistent finishes could prove just as important as outright victories as the title fight intensifies.
The three-race format also means momentum can shift rapidly. A strong Saturday can establish a useful platform for Sunday, while an early setback leaves two further opportunities for recovery.
Friday testing opens New Jersey programme
Papasavvas and Crosslink Motorsports will begin their New Jersey programme with a full day of official testing on Friday.
The extended running will allow the team to work through its set-up programme before Qualifying takes place on Saturday. Race 1 will follow later that day, beginning the three-race championship programme.
Sunday will then feature Races 2 and 3, completing a weekend in which Papasavvas can add as many as 75 points to his championship total.
With the title battle moving into a decisive phase, every session will carry increasing importance. Papasavvas arrives as the driver everyone else must chase, and New Jersey offers another opportunity for the Crosslink Motorsport contender to strengthen his position before the championship enters its final stretch.
