The 2026 DTM championship standings have been provisionally amended following Mirko Bortolotti’s disqualification from Race 2 at Motorsport Arena Oschersleben.
Bortolotti originally won the second race of Round 5 in the No. 63 TGI Team by GRT Lamborghini Temerario GT3. However, the DMSB announced on 13 August that post-race technical checks found wheel bearings which did not comply with the applicable DTM homologation requirements. Officials subsequently disqualified the Lamborghini.
As a result, Maro Engel moves into first place in the amended Race 2 classification, while Thomas Preining and Marco Wittmann complete the revised podium. The positions behind Bortolotti also move forward accordingly, changing the Drivers’, Teams’ and Manufacturers’ Championship totals. However, TGI Team by GRT has announced its intention to appeal the decision, meaning the Oschersleben Race 2 result and all championship standings affected by it remain provisional pending the outcome of the appeal.
Engel extends provisional DTM championship lead
Engel already left Oschersleben as the championship leader after originally finishing third in Race 1 and second in Race 2.
The disqualification now provisionally promotes the Mercedes-AMG Team Ravenol driver to victory in Sunday’s contest. Under the DTM points system, that increases his Race 2 score from 20 to 25 points and takes his championship total from 145 to 150.
Consequently, Engel’s advantage at the top increases from 21 to 25 points.
Nicki Thiim also benefits from Bortolotti’s disqualification. The Comtoyou Racing driver moves from 13th to 12th in Race 2 and gains one additional point, increasing his championship total from 124 to 125.
Thiim therefore remains second, although the revised classification leaves him further behind Engel than he was immediately after the Oschersleben weekend.
Auer and Preining remain firmly in title fight
Lucas Auer also gains one point through the amended Race 2 classification. The Mercedes-AMG Team Landgraf driver moves from 12th to 11th, increasing his championship total from 123 to 124. He remains third, just one point behind Thiim.
Preining receives a larger boost. The Manthey driver originally finished third after losing the Race 2 lead during the second mandatory pit-stop sequence. Bortolotti’s disqualification promotes Preining to second and adds four points to his championship total. He consequently moves from 117 to 121 points.
Therefore, only four points now separate Thiim in second from Preining in fourth. However, Engel’s promotion from second to first means Preining now sits 29 points behind the championship leader rather than the previous 28-point deficit.
The provisionally amended top four consequently reads Engel on 150 points, Thiim on 125, Auer on 124 and Preining on 121.
Cairoli and Maini remain tied as Wittmann closes
The battle immediately behind the leading four also changes slightly. Matteo Cairoli moves from 10th to ninth in Race 2 and gains one additional point. The Emil Frey Racing driver therefore increases his championship total from 94 to 95.
Arjun Maini also gains one point after moving from sixth to fifth. The HRT Ford Racing driver joins Cairoli on 95 points, although Cairoli retains fifth place on countback.
Meanwhile, Wittmann gains three points through his promotion from fourth to third. The Schubert Motorsport driver therefore moves from 91 to 94 points and now sits just one point behind both Cairoli and Maini.
Only one point consequently covers fifth through seventh in the provisional standings.
Bortolotti drops from 10th to 15th after disqualification
Bortolotti experiences the largest championship change. The Lamborghini factory driver originally collected 25 points for his Race 2 victory, which took his Oschersleben weekend total to 36 and moved him from 14th to 10th in the championship on 73 points.
His disqualification removes those 25 Race 2 points.
Bortolotti therefore falls back to 48 points and drops provisionally from 10th to 15th in the Drivers’ Championship.
Kelvin van der Linde moves ahead with 73 points after gaining one additional point from his promotion to sixth in Race 2. Luca Engstler also increases his total from 67 to 69 after moving from fifth to fourth.
Jules Gounon rises to 67 points, Ricardo Feller to 65 and Bastian Buus to 31 as each gains one additional point. Ben Dörr also benefits from moving into the final points-paying position. His promotion from 16th to 15th adds one point and increases his championship total to 77.

Provisionally amended Oschersleben Race 2 results
Bortolotti’s disqualification promotes all classified drivers who originally finished behind the Lamborghini.
Engel therefore becomes the provisional race winner, while Preining takes second and Wittmann moves onto the podium. Engstler advances to fourth ahead of Maini and van der Linde.

The amended classification remains provisional while the appeal process continues.
Winward Racing extends provisional Teams’ Championship lead
Bortolotti’s disqualification also changes the Teams’ Championship because every promoted points-scoring driver contributes an adjusted total.
Winward Racing gains the most among the leading teams. Engel receives five additional points for moving from second to first, while Gounon gains another through his promotion from ninth to eighth. The Mercedes-AMG squad therefore increases its total from 205 to 211 points.
Manthey also receives five additional points. Preining gains four through his move to second, while Feller adds one after advancing from eighth to seventh. The Porsche team consequently increases from 174 to 179 points. Winward therefore holds a provisional 32-point lead over Manthey.
Schubert closes on Emil Frey as ABT gains position
Emil Frey Racing increases its total by two points after both Cairoli and Vermeulen gain one position. The Ferrari team moves to 162 points and retains third.
However, Schubert Motorsport closes the gap after gaining four additional points. Wittmann receives three through his podium promotion, while van der Linde gains another point by moving to sixth. Schubert consequently reaches 160 points and now sits only two behind Emil Frey Racing.
Meanwhile, HRT Ford Racing moves to 147 points and Landgraf Motorsport reaches 145.
Further down the standings, ABT Sportsline gains three points through the promotions of Engstler and Mapelli. That moves ABT from 95 to 98 points and provisionally ahead of Dörr Motorsport, which rises to 96 after Dörr enters the points.
GRT loses 25 Teams’ Championship points
TGI Team by GRT takes the largest hit in the Teams’ Championship. Bortolotti’s original Race 2 victory contributed 25 points to the team’s Oschersleben total. His disqualification removes those points entirely.
GRT consequently falls from 78 to 53 points. The team remains 10th in the standings, but the gap to the teams ahead increases substantially.

Winward’s provisional advantage over Manthey increases to 32 points. Meanwhile, only 17 points separate Emil Frey Racing in third and Landgraf Motorsport in sixth.
The Teams’ Championship remains provisional pending the appeal.
Lamborghini drops from third to sixth among manufacturers
Bortolotti’s disqualification creates an even larger change in the Manufacturers’ Championship. DTM counts the two highest-scoring drivers from each manufacturer towards the manufacturers’ total in each race.
Before the disqualification, Bortolotti’s 25 points for victory and Engstler’s 11 for fifth gave Lamborghini 36 points from Race 2.
Following the revised result, Engstler becomes Lamborghini’s leading finisher in fourth and scores 13 points. Mapelli moves to 13th and contributes three more. Therefore, Lamborghini’s Race 2 manufacturer contribution falls from 36 to 16 points.
That 20-point reduction drops Lamborghini’s championship total from 175 to 155 and moves the marque from third to sixth.
Mercedes-AMG strengthens manufacturers’ advantage
Mercedes-AMG benefits considerably from the revised Race 2 classification. Engel gains five points through his promotion to victory, while Gounon gains one after moving to eighth. As the two highest-scoring Mercedes-AMG drivers in the race, they increase the manufacturer’s Race 2 contribution by six points. Mercedes-AMG therefore moves from 277 to 283 points.
Porsche gains five points through Preining and Feller and reaches 198, leaving Mercedes-AMG with an 85-point provisional championship advantage.
Ferrari now moves into third with 174 points after Cairoli and Vermeulen each receive an additional point.
BMW rises to 165 after Wittmann and van der Linde gain four combined points, while Ford reaches 158 through Maini’s promotion.
Lamborghini consequently falls behind all three manufacturers despite leaving Oschersleben originally classified with its first Temerario GT3 victory.

Mercedes-AMG provisionally leads Porsche by 85 points, while the battle behind the leading two changes considerably. Only 19 points separate Ferrari in third from Lamborghini in sixth.
Oschersleben championship picture remains provisional
The amended Oschersleben classification significantly changes the championship picture without altering the identity of the Drivers’, Teams’ or Manufacturers’ Championship leaders.
Engel remains first but now holds 150 points and a 25-point advantage over Thiim. Auer sits another point behind, while Preining remains firmly involved on 121.
Bortolotti, meanwhile, provisionally falls from 10th to 15th after losing the 25 points from his Race 2 victory.
The biggest change comes in the Manufacturers’ Championship, where Lamborghini drops from third to sixth after losing 20 manufacturer points from the amended Sunday result.
However, none of those changes can yet be regarded as definitive.
TGI Team by GRT has announced its intention to appeal Bortolotti’s disqualification. Should the team succeed, the original Oschersleben Race 2 classification and the championship points attached to it could be reinstated.
Therefore, the amended Race 2 result and all three championship tables remain provisional pending the final outcome of the appeal.
