After a bumpy Practice 1, Kyle Kirkwood showed his skills on the streets and posted the fastest time around America’s capital city. Not far behind him was championship leader Alex Palou, who set a quick early pace as most of the field posted sub-1-minute times.
Graham Rahal brought the first red flag of the IndyCar weekend in Washington, D.C, as he hit the wall and entered the run-off at Turn 6. With major damage to his suspension, Rahal did not return to Practice 2.
Louis Foster also raises a red flag with 7 minutes left in practice 2, having made contact with the wall and damaging the nose of his No. 45 RLL machine.
Alex Palou carries his speed into Saturday’s 2nd practice session in America’s capital and comes out on top with an absolutely rapid sub-57-second time.
