Round 14 of the 2026 IndyCar season in Washington, D.C has been completed! View the full results here.
Alex Palou starts from the front after securing his 7th pole after a punishingly quick lap in qualifying. It’s his 7th pole of the season as the reigning champion closes in on his fifth title. He will lead the field to green for the longest IndyCar street course competition on the streets of Washington, D.C.
Following Saturday’s qualifying session, the No.6 Arrow McLaren, No. 28 Andretti, and No. 47 RLL cars all picked up grid penalties for unapproved engine changes. According to IndyCar rules, this results in a six-place grid drop for road and street courses.
Street course savant Kyle Kirkwood was quick at the start to take the lead of the race from Palou. Shortly after, the first FCY was called for debris on the track, briefly bringing the race pace to a crawl.
Following an IndyCar race full of wheel-to-wheel, wall-banging, drag-racing drama on the streets of Washington, D.C, Kyle Kirkwood regains his title as king of the streets around America’s capital!
