George Russell topped FP3 at the 2026 F1 Italian GP, leading Mercedes teammate Kimi Antonelli as teams completed their final preparations before qualifying. Full results below.

Charles Leclerc opened the weekend fastest in FP1, leading a Ferrari one-two ahead of Lewis Hamilton on home soil. George Russell completed the top three, while several regular drivers sat out the session as teams fulfilled mandatory rookie FP1 requirements.

The second session then shifted the advantage towards Mercedes. Russell topped FP2 by just 0.014s from Leclerc, with Kimi Antonelli third after a strong showing at his home Grand Prix. McLaren remained in the mix but had work to do, while several drivers encountered moments at the Rettifilo chicane, Ascari and Parabolica as they pushed the limits around the Temple of Speed.

With Leclerc, Hamilton, Russell and Antonelli all showing pace across Friday, FP3 at the 2026 F1 Italian GP offered one final chance for teams to refine their setups before Qualifying later in the day.

The session started slowly, with Gabriel Bortoleto first out for Audi before Alpine sent Pierre Gasly and Franco Colapinto onto the track with upgrades fitted to both cars. Traffic and the tow quickly became key themes at Monza, while Liam Lawson brought out yellow flags after spinning at the first chicane.

Russell set the pace during the qualifying simulations and improved late on, ending the 2026 F1 Italian GP FP3 session, fastest from Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen. Charles Leclerc lost time in traffic, while Oscar Piastri had to abandon a lap after finding Russell on the racing line. The session ended with another tense moment as Hamilton overtook Verstappen on the main straight after the chequered flag, leaving the Dutchman unhappy before Qualifying.
