The final round of the 2026 Indy NXT by Firestone season has been completed at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, the final race remaining to decide the championship. View the full results here.

Nikita Johnson enters the finale with a 19-point advantage over Enzo Fittipaldi after finishing second in Race 1, while Fittipaldi crossed the line eighth. Johnson will start sixth and can secure the championship with a podium finish regardless of Fittipaldi’s result. Fittipaldi starts 12th and will need to make his way through the field to keep his title hopes alive.

Tymek Kucharczyk starts the final race of the season from pole alongside Race 1 winner Josh Pierson. Kucharczyk’s championship hopes ended following his 10th-place finish on Saturday, but he has one final opportunity to close out his rookie season with a second victory.

Trouble at the green flag for Indy NXT Laguna Seca Race 2

A full-course yellow is out before the field gets past the start stand. Pierson has trouble off the start, causing Max Garcia to get into the back of him. The Andretti driver collects Niels Koolen on his way to the gravel. The second- and third-place starters are out of the car, and out of the race.

The field takes the green for the second time with 25 laps to go. Kucahrczyk gets a great start, with Johnson up to third. Garcia is in second, but will be serving a drive-through penalty for the contact on lap one.

Lochie Hughes is right behind Johnson, battling for second.

Big movers so far

Fittipaldi is the big winner from the start, gaining seven positions and up to fifth. Another notable performance for Jack Beeton, up to tenth after starting 16th.

With 13 laps to go, Colin Kaminsky gets by Max Taylor for 13th. The #57 driver is up seven positions from the start.

Nolan Allaer took his JHR machine for a spin, dropping behind Nicolas Monteiro and Garcia.

Kucharczyk wins the race, Johnson wins the championship

A clean second half of the race allowed Kucharczyk to pull away, taking the checkered flag by a commanding seven seconds.

Nikita Johnson is the 2026 Indy NXT by Firestone champion. His second-place finish at Laguna Seca is enough to secure the title over Enzo Fittipaldi, capping off the season with a podium in the final race of the year.
