Wright Motorsports has withdrawn its No. 242 Porsche 911 GT3 R from this weekend’s GT World Challenge (GTWC) America round at Barber Motorsports Park as Therese Lahlouh continues to recover from an acute illness and allergic reaction.
Lahlouh had been due to share the Pro-Am entry with Thomas Merrill at the penultimate round of the 2026 season. However, the team has opted to withdraw the car to allow Lahlouh to focus fully on her recovery.
The No. 242 Porsche will consequently take no part in the Barber Motorsports Park weekend, with Wright Motorsports instead targeting a return for the season-ending Indianapolis 8 Hour in October.
Wright Motorsports prioritises Lahlouh’s recovery
Lahlouh suffered an acute illness and allergic reaction before the Barber weekend. While she continues to recover, Wright Motorsports elected not to proceed with the No. 242 entry.
The decision removes both Lahlouh and Merrill from the Pro-Am field for the penultimate GT World Challenge America event of the season.
Wright Motorsports Team Manager and COO Bob Viglione stressed that Lahlouh’s recovery remains the team’s priority.
“Therese’s health and well-being are our only priority,” said Viglione. “There is no question that giving Therese the time needed to recover is the right decision. The entire Wright Motorsports team is behind her, and we’re looking forward to seeing her back at the track at the Indianapolis 8 Hour.”
The withdrawal gives Lahlouh additional time away from competition rather than attempting to return during the Barber weekend.
Indianapolis 8 Hour return planned
While the No. 242 Porsche will sit out Barber, Wright Motorsports currently intends to return the car to competition for the final round of the season at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
The Indianapolis 8 Hour is scheduled for 8–11 October and will bring the 2026 GT World Challenge America campaign to a close.
The event therefore represents the current target for Lahlouh’s return to the No. 242 Porsche alongside Merrill, subject to her continued recovery.
For now, Wright Motorsports will leave Barber without its Pro-Am No. 242 entry as the team places Lahlouh’s recovery ahead of returning to competition.
