LN4 Fusion has confirmed James Egozi as its first driver for the 2027 FIA Formula 3 season, with the reigning Eurocup-3 champion set to make his F3 championship debut.
The American will graduate to F3 following an impressive 2026 campaign in which he established himself as one of the standout drivers on the European junior single-seater ladder. Egozi started the year by finishing second in the Eurocup-3 Spanish Winter Championship before carrying that form into the main Eurocup-3 season.
His arrival also marks the first driver announcement for LN4 Fusion ahead of the team’s inaugural F3 campaign. The newly formed operation will replace AIX Racing on the 2027 grid, beginning a new chapter in the championship with Egozi as the first member of its three-car line-up.
Egozi earns F3 graduation after dominant Eurocup-3 season
Egozi followed his Spanish Winter Championship runner-up finish with a dominant campaign in the main Eurocup-3 series. He won eight races and claimed 12 podiums across the season, eventually securing the championship with two rounds remaining.
His title-winning run included several weekends in which he maximised his opportunities. At Monza, Egozi produced a charge from seventh to take victory in the opening race of the weekend before completing a double with another win in Race 2.
That consistency placed him firmly in control of the championship before the final rounds. Egozi then arrived at Jerez with an opportunity to wrap up the title early and converted pole into his eighth victory of the campaign in Race 1.
A second-place finish in the following race proved enough to secure the championship with four races remaining. Egozi ended the weekend with a 122-point advantage and his 12th podium of the season, becoming the latest Eurocup-3 champion to earn a move onto the FIA F3 grid.
Egozi excited by LN4 Fusion opportunity
The move gives Egozi an opportunity to continue his development while joining a completely new F3 project from its first season.
“I am truly grateful to the entire Team for giving me the opportunity to join such an exciting project with LN4 Fusion,” Egozi said. “I’m ready to continue my development as a driver, and I am hungrier than ever for the 2027 FIA F3 season.”
His promotion comes after a season in which he combined outright speed with consistency. Eight victories made Egozi one of the most successful drivers in Eurocup-3, while securing the championship with two rounds remaining underlined the advantage he built over his rivals.
F3 will provide a considerably different challenge. Egozi will step into a 30-car championship on the Formula 1 support package, while also adapting to a new car, new circuits and the greater depth of competition that comes with the next level of the junior ladder.
Richards praises Egozi’s breakthrough year
LN4 Fusion Chief Executive Officer Dan Richards highlighted Egozi’s 2026 performances when confirming him as the first driver in the team’s F3 programme.
“We are really delighted to have James on board,” Richards said. “He has always been a very interesting prospect, and he made a remarkable breakthrough this year by dominating the Eurocup-3 championship.”
Egozi’s results give LN4 Fusion a proven junior single-seater champion around whom it can begin building its debut campaign.
“His results speak for themselves and we look forward to building on that form as we establish ourselves in the FIA Formula 3 Championship.”
The American’s combination of recent success and continued development also makes him a logical first signing for a new operation looking to establish itself quickly in one of the most competitive junior championships.
LN4 Fusion begins building inaugural F3 line-up
Egozi becomes the first confirmed driver for a team that will introduce one of the biggest changes to the 2027 F3 grid.
LN4 Fusion will take over AIX Racing’s place in the championship as part of a wider junior motorsport project backed by Lando Norris. Its arrival means the 2027 FIA Formula 3 grid will feature a new identity while retaining the established 10-team, 30-driver structure.
The team must still confirm the other two drivers who will join Egozi for its debut campaign. For the American, however, the move represents the next step after a title-winning 2026 season and the opportunity to establish himself immediately at FIA F3 level.
After dominating Eurocup-3 and securing the championship before the final two rounds, Egozi will now look to carry that momentum into his rookie F3 campaign as LN4 Fusion begins its first season in the category.
