The Asian Le Mans Series (ALMS) has confirmed a 46-car provisional entry list for its 2026/27 season opener at Circuit Paul Ricard, where the championship’s new Hypercar category will make its competitive debut. The 4 Hours of Le Castellet will feature two four-hour races on 14–15 November, beginning an unusual six-race European campaign.

The entry comprises two Ferrari 499Ps in Hypercar, 16 LMP2 prototypes and 28 GT3 cars representing eight manufacturers. Although the total has decreased by one from the previously announced 47-car full-season allocation, the championship will welcome established title-winning teams, experienced endurance competitors and several drivers making their debuts in new categories.

Among the headline entries are Cetilar Racing and AF Corse’s Ferrari Hypercars, defending LMP2 champions CrowdStrike Racing by APR and a competitive GT3 field featuring Garage 59, Manthey, CarGuy Racing and Heart of Racing.

Two Ferrari 499Ps headline inaugural ALMS Hypercar field

The introduction of Hypercar represents the most significant change to the ALMS class structure for 2026/27, with two Ferrari 499Ps forming the inaugural field.

Cetilar Racing will step up from LMP2 following its runner-up finish in the 2025/26 championship. The Italian outfit will field the No. 47 Ferrari for Roberto Lacorte, his son Nicola Lacorte and Ferrari factory driver Antonio Fuoco, with technical support from AF Corse.

The programme follows Cetilar’s successful previous campaign, which included two victories at Sepang. Its move into Hypercar will provide another opportunity for the team to compete at the highest level of prototype racing.

Meanwhile, AF Corse will enter the No. 90 Ferrari for Luís Pérez Companc, Yifei Ye and Nicklas Nielsen. Both professional drivers bring extensive experience with Ferrari’s Hypercar programme, including overall victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

The team has also revealed a distinctive blue and yellow livery for its new entry, contrasting with Cetilar’s traditional blue and green colours.

With both cars competing throughout the six-race season, Ferrari will provide the entire inaugural Hypercar grid.

CrowdStrike Racing by APR returns to defend LMP2 title

The LMP2 category will feature 16 Oreca 07-Gibsons, equalling the record field from the previous season. Alongside the championship title, teams will compete for an automatic invitation to the 2027 24 Hours of Le Mans.

Defending champions CrowdStrike Racing by APR return with George Kurtz and Louis Delétraz in the No. 4 entry. Laurin Heinrich joins the established pairing as the team targets another championship.

Algarve Pro Racing (APR) will operate two additional entries under its own name, beginning with the No. 25 Oreca of Michael Jensen, Enzo Trulli and Malthe Jakobsen.

The trio recently secured the 2026 European Le Mans Series (ELMS) LMP2 Pro/Am title and will aim to extend their successful partnership. Jensen previously won the 2024/25 ALMS championship with APR, while Jakobsen will pursue a fourth consecutive LMP2 title in the series.

Meanwhile, Charlie Wurz will make his prototype racing debut in the No. 20 Oreca alongside Jens Reno Møller and Theodor Jensen.

The combination gives APR three entries in a category featuring several former champions and established endurance racing operations.

United Autosports and former champions strengthen LMP2 field

United Autosports will also field two LMP2 entries following its successful 2026 ELMS campaign.

Giorgio Roda, Ian Aguilera and Sting Ray Robb will share the No. 22 Oreca, while Phil Fayer, Hunter McElrea and Mikkel Jensen will compete in the No. 2.

The latter trio brings an established partnership from United’s IMSA programme, including victory at the 2026 12 Hours of Sebring. Their continued collaboration in ALMS could provide an advantage during the condensed double-header weekends.

Former champions DKR Engineering and Nielsen Racing also return. DKR has confirmed Tom Van Rompuy and Laurents Hörr for its No. 3 entry, while Nielsen will field an all-American combination of Steven Thomas, Max Garcia and Scott Huffaker in the No. 24.

Meanwhile, reigning ALMS LMP3 champions CLX Motorsport will graduate to LMP2 with Louis Stern, Adrien Closmenil and Matthieu Vaxivière.

Duqueine Team and Team Virage complete the single-car programmes, adding further competition to an already substantial field.

Doohan and Hanson among notable LMP2 additions

Several high-profile drivers will also compete in LMP2 during the opening weekend.

AF Corse has confirmed former F1 driver Jack Doohan alongside 2025 Le Mans winner Phil Hanson and Alex Dimirdjian in its No. 55 Oreca.

The Italian outfit will operate a second LMP2 entry for Jeremy Clarke, Julien Andlauer and Nicolas Varrone, giving AF Corse representation across all three ALMS categories.

Inter Europol Competition returns with two cars following further success at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. The No. 43 entry will feature Nick Yelloly and Cian Shields, while Bijoy Garg and Niels Koolen will compete in the No. 34. The remaining positions are yet to be confirmed.

Proton Competition will also enter two Orecas. Horst Felbermayr and Horst Felix Felbermayr will share the No. 66 with Ferdinand Habsburg, while Georgios Kolovos and Charles Milesi are confirmed in the No. 11.

With several former championship winners, Le Mans competitors and drivers transitioning from single-seaters, the LMP2 category is set for a competitive opening weekend.

GT3 attracts 28 cars from eight manufacturers

GT3 forms the largest category on the Le Castellet entry list, with 28 cars representing eight manufacturers.

Mercedes-AMG leads the field with seven GT3 EVOs, followed by Porsche with six 911 GT3 R EVOs. Ferrari and Aston Martin contribute four cars each, while McLaren, Lamborghini and Ford have two entries apiece. BMW completes the field with a single M4 GT3 EVO.

The final provisional entry represents a reduction from the 29-car GT3 allocation announced in October, following the withdrawal of Dragon Racing’s Ferrari 296 GT3 EVO.

Nevertheless, the category retains considerable depth, with several previous ALMS champions returning alongside established international GT3 teams.

CarGuy Racing will field the No. 57 Ferrari 296 GT3 EVO for Takeshi Kimura, Mathys Jaubert and Esteban Masson. The entry continues the distinctive Car Guy programme associated with the previous season’s championship-winning Kessel Racing effort.

Meanwhile, AF Corse will field another two Ferrari 296 GT3 EVOs, alongside its Hypercar and LMP2 programmes. David Perel, Rafa Duran and Peter Dempsey will share the No. 50, while Francesco Piovanetti, Jef Machiels and Alessio Rovera will compete in the No. 51.

Garage 59 and Manthey target GT3 championship success

Garage 59 returns to ALMS with two McLaren 720S GT3 EVOs, combining defending champions with emerging talent.

Dustin Blattner and Dennis Marschall, who secured the 2025/26 GT Drivers’ Championship, will switch from Ferrari machinery to McLaren. They will share the No. 58 with Tom Fleming.

Meanwhile, Marco Pulcini, Freddie Tomlinson and Joseph Loake complete the team’s two-car programme in the No. 60.

Manthey will also return with two Porsche 911 GT3 R EVOs as it pursues another championship following its 2024/25 success.

The No. 91 Porsche will feature Joel Monegro, Flynt Schuring and six-time Le Mans class winner Richard Lietz. Meanwhile, Max Moritz, Raphael Rennhofer and two-time ALMS champion Klaus Bachler will share the No. 92.

Both teams will face considerable competition from the wider GT3 field, particularly as the double-header format places additional importance on consistency and reliability.

Mercedes-AMG and Ford establish strong GT3 presence

Mercedes-AMG will provide the largest manufacturer contingent in GT3, with seven cars competing across six teams.

Petrolife Racing Team, GetSpeed, Team Qatar by Iron Lynx, Craft-Bamboo Iron Lynx and Winward Racing will each enter one car, while Bahrain’s 2 Seas Motorsports will operate two.

The latter will field Charles Dawson, Christian Mansell and Kiern Jewiss in the No. 33, with Darren Leung, Guy Albag and Chris Lulham sharing the No. 46.

Meanwhile, Haupt Racing Team will bring two Ford Mustang GT3 EVOs. Arjun Maini, Finn Wiebelhaus and Michael Tosi will compete in the No. 64, while Hubert Haupt, David Schumacher and Fabio Scherer form the No. 65 crew.

Team WRT will field the only BMW M4 GT3 EVO, with Anthony McIntosh, Parker Thompson and Max Hesse sharing the No. 69.

The variety of manufacturers and driver combinations should create a competitive GT3 field, particularly as teams adapt to the technical demands of Circuit Paul Ricard.

Lamborghini Temerario and Heart of Racing prepare for ALMS debuts

The Le Castellet opener will also introduce the Lamborghini Temerario GT3 to ALMS, with two teams entering the manufacturer’s latest GT3 model.

Leipert Motorsport will field the No. 63 Lamborghini for Lance Bergstein, Nicolas Stati and Brendon Leitch, while DFYNE Racing Team will enter the No. 93 for Oscar Lee Ryndziewicz, Giovanni Altoè and Giacomo Altoè.

Meanwhile, Heart of Racing will make its ALMS debut with two Aston Martin Vantage GT3 EVOs.

Gray Newell, Eduardo Barrichello and Roman De Angelis will share the No. 26, while Ian James, Zacharie Robichon and Mattia Drudi will compete in the No. 27.

The Aston Martin contingent also includes Car Blanche by RSL, which will field Arnold Robin, Jonny Edgar and Valentin Hasse-Clot in the No. 68.

Ecurie Ecosse Blackthorn completes the manufacturer’s entries, with Giacomo Petrobelli and Kobe Pauwels confirmed in the No. 70.

Elsewhere, Ponos Racing returns to GT3 following its previous LMP2 campaign, entering a Ferrari for Yorikatsu Tsujiko, Takuro Shinohara and Tadasuke Makino.

Additional Porsche entries from Proton Competition, Herberth Motorsport and High Class Racing complete the extensive GT3 field.

ALMS begins six-race European campaign at Le Castellet

The 2026/27 ALMS season will take place entirely in Europe following the championship’s temporary relocation from its traditional Asian and Middle Eastern venues.

Organisers have retained the six-race format, with three circuits hosting two four-hour races on consecutive days.

The season will begin at Circuit Paul Ricard before continuing at Jerez in January and concluding at Portimão in February.

2026/27 ALMS calendar

  1. Le Castellet, France — 13–15 November 2026
    • Race 1 — Saturday, 14 November
    • Race 2 — Sunday, 15 November
  2. Jerez, Spain — 15–17 January 2027
    • Race 3 — Saturday, 16 January
    • Race 4 — Sunday, 17 January
  3. Portimão, Portugal — 19–21 February 2027
    • Race 5 — Saturday, 20 February
    • Race 6 — Sunday, 21 February

The compressed calendar will create additional challenges for teams, particularly with limited opportunities to recover from difficult weekends.

With Hypercar joining the championship and substantial competition throughout LMP2 and GT3, the Le Castellet double-header will provide the first indication of the leading contenders across all three categories.

The complete provisional entry list remains subject to further driver confirmations before the season begins.
