FP1 at the 2026 F1 São Paulo GP took place at the Autódromo José Carlos Pace, commonly known as Interlagos, view the full results of the session here. Following a busy opening practice session in Mexico City last weekend, six full-time drivers will once again hand over their cars to rookies for FP1 in São Paulo.

Five of the six drivers also participated in Mexico City, with Dino Beganovic returning to the Ferrari cockpit for another practice appearance.

The full list of replacements:

  • Beganovic for Leclerc (Ferrari)
  • Fornaroli for Piastri (McLaren)
  • Browning for Sainz (Williams)
  • Minì for Gasly (Alpine)
  • Slater for Hülkenberg (Audi)
  • Herta for Pérez (Cadillac)

Meanwhile, Rafael Câmara makes his Formula 1 race debut with Haas on home soil, adding another Brazilian driver to the grid alongside Gabriel Bortoleto.

Kimi Antonelli arrives in São Paulo as the newly crowned 2026 F1 World Champion. The Mercedes driver secured his maiden title with a third-place finish at the Mexico City GP, becoming the youngest World Champion in the sport’s history. While the championship has already been decided, the battle for second place remains incredibly close. George Russell, Lewis Hamilton, Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc continue to fight for the runner-up spot, with Lando Norris also hoping to close the gap.

There is plenty at stake in the Constructors’ Championship as well. Red Bull Racing and McLaren remain locked in a fierce battle, with the Milton Keynes-based squad carrying strong momentum following Verstappen’s victory in Mexico City.

Further down the standings, Haas and Audi continue their closely contested fight for seventh place as the 2026 season approaches its conclusion.
