Nico Müller is set to round off his first season with the Andretti Formula E team at the London E-Prix. He spoke about the upward trend in the last few races and reflected on the year back.

Good upward trend over last few races

Müller says, the “season finale is always a highlight, so we hope to end the season on a positive note here”, but he knows how difficult it is to expect things in Formula E. Asked by Pit Debrief on where he would see himself in the order, Müller says there could be something to gain.

“That’s difficult to say. I think we’ve had a good upward trend over the last few races. The aim is obviously to score good points here again, not only for the drivers’ championship, but also for the team and manufacturers’ championships. There is still something to be gained, so we hope that we can play our part.”

Reflecting on first season with Andretti

Müller then spoke about how he would reflect his first Formula E season with Andretti.

“Yes, I think we started a little less strongly than we had hoped. We needed a bit of time to get going, and there were also situations here and there where we didn’t have the necessary bit of luck on our side.

“But basically, things were always going in the right direction and the upward trend, as I said, is clearly there. Even if the expectations, I think, were higher on both sides.

In spite of not managing to secure a podium, it was overall a positive debut with the American team for Muller.

“I don’t think it’s been an easy season for the team in general. But I’ve actually settled in well, I feel comfortable and from that point of view we hope that we’ll now hit another exclamation mark.”

Racing his major concern

When asked on the current contract talks for next season, Müller replied that the focus is not on talks but on the London E-Prix.

“We are not focussing on that at the moment. We have time after this weekend to take care of such things. Therefore, a momentary focus. Everything forwards!”
