Following a hugely successful 16-year spell at Team Penske, it has been confirmed that Will Power will leave Team Penske ahead of the 2026 IndyCar season. He is expected to head to Andretti. Should he do so, he will likely partner Kyle Kirkwood and Marcus Ericsson. Colton Herta is set to head to Formula 2.
After joining Team Penske in 2009, Power would go on to have a superb journey with them. 42 wins, 65 poles, 2 championships and an Indy 500 win is a brilliant record.
His two titles came in 2014 and 2022, while he took the Indy 500 back in 2018. The Aussie also holds the IndyCar pole record with 71.
Despite racing under a cloud for most of the year wondering if he would stay at Team Penske or not, the 44-year-old Australian was their lead driver throughout a very difficult 2025 for the team. He finished P8 in the standings ahead of Scott McLaughlin (P9) and Josef Newgarden (P12), securing the team’s first win of the year in Portland.

As per their press release: “Team Penske will announce their plans for the No. 12 Verizon Chevrolet at a later date prior to the 2026 season.”
