VRD Racing’s Enzo Tarnvanichkul claimed his maiden GB3 Championship victory in the third and final race of the weekend at Brands Hatch. Starting from second on the grid, the Thai driver made a blistering getaway, immediately passing pole sitter Jack Sherwood at Paddock Hill Bend, and never looked back. Despite his early lead being wiped out by two safety car interruptions, Tarnvanichkul held firm to score a breakthrough win.

Rapid start and early control

From the moment the lights went out, Tarnvanichkul’s intentions were clear. His launch was perfect, and with decisive braking into Paddock Hill Bend, he swept past Sherwood to seize the race lead. Over the opening laps, the VRD driver stretched his advantage beyond three seconds, displaying the kind of pace that left the chasing pack struggling to respond.

Sherwood, meanwhile, found himself under mounting pressure from Elite Motorsport’s Will Macintyre, who appeared destined for a podium. However, that fight was abruptly ended when Macintyre ran off at high speed at Hawthorns, an incident that necessitated the first safety car.

Safety Cars shape the race

Racing resumed with Tarnvanichkul leading once more, but the field barely had time to settle before further drama unfolded. On the restart, JHR Developments’ Kai Daryanani and Hitech’s Deagen Fairclough clashed at Hawthorns while disputing fourth and fifth positions. The contact elevated Rodin Motorsport’s Abbi Pulling into third, and she went on to secure her first GB3 podium after a strong and consistent drive.

Moments later, further incidents involving Gianmarco Pradel and Patrick Heuzenroeder brought out the second safety car of the contest. Heuzenroeder’s stricken Xcel Motorsport car was left in the gravel, effectively neutralising the race until the flag. Tarnvanichkul held his composure throughout, keeping Sherwood behind at the restart and ultimately taking the chequered flag less than half a second clear.

Podium finishers

For Sherwood, second place was a career-best result and his maiden GB3 podium, a well-earned reward after holding off sustained pressure during the early stages. Pulling, meanwhile, completed the rostrum with third, marking a significant milestone in her GB3 career and underlining Rodin’s strength across the weekend.

Action through the pack

Behind the podium trio, Hillspeed’s Hiyu Yamakoshi secured fourth after keeping clear of the chaos around him, while Daryanani recovered from his clash with Fairclough to salvage fifth. Teammate Freddie Slater delivered another strong drive, climbing from 11th on the grid to finish sixth, narrowly ahead of Kanato Le in the third Hillspeed machine.

The Argenti with Prema duo of Reza Seewooruthun and Lucas Fluxa enjoyed strong progress, finishing eighth and ninth respectively after climbing multiple positions. Hitech’s Nikita Johnson rounded out the top ten with an impressive charge from the back rows of the grid.

Championship leader Alex Ninovic finished just outside the points in 12th, having started deep in the field due to the reversed-grid format, but retained a commanding advantage in the standings after his two earlier wins.
