Spanish driver Bruno del Pino will return to FIA F3 in 2026 with Van Amersfoort Racing (VAR) for his second campaign. He becomes the team’s second confirmed driver, joining Jesse Carrasquedo, who was announced earlier this week. The 19 year-old will leave MP Motorsport, a team he’s been with since 2023, to race in VAR colours next year.

The Spaniard made his single-seater debut in 2022 where he contested in the Spanish F4 Championship with Drivex School. Later that year, he competed in the FIA Motorsport Games Formula 4 Cup, where he claimed his first taste of success with a third-place finish in the main race. The following year, del Pino stepped up to Eurocup-3 with MP Motorsport, finishing seventh overall, while also making a one-off appearance in the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA) at Spielberg. The 19 year-old began 2024 with a debut in the Formula Regional Middle East Championship before returning for another season in Eurocup-3, where he enjoyed the most successful seasons in his single-seater career to date, finishing third overall with three wins, one pole position and five further podiums.

Since making his Eurocup-3 debut, the Spaniard has remained with MP Motorsport, carrying the partnership into his rookie F3 campaign this year. He wrapped up the season having finished 23rd in the Drivers’ Standings, alongside one podium-finish.

Tough rookie season with MP Motorsport

In 2025, the 19-year-old endured a challenging rookie season, often struggling to find consistency which reflected in his points tally. del Pino kicked off his F3 campaign on a difficult note in Melbourne, having retired from the Sprint Race and only finishing the Feature Race in P23. Momentum soon followed in Bahrain, where he secured his first points of the season with a P9 finish in the Feature Race. However, just a week later at Imola, del Pino delivered his standout performance of the season, claiming his maiden F3 podium during the Sprint Race.

His best Qualifying result came in Austria, where he secured himself a fourth place start on the grid, just shy of the top three. Subsequently, del Pino faced a run of pointless finishes before bouncing back with consecutive points in the Silverstone Feature Race and Spa Sprint Race. These outings marked his final points he would score of the season, as he left the final rounds empty-handed.

A new chapter for del Pino

In 2026, del Pino will join VAR for his second F3 campaign, marking his first team change since 2023. After three years with MP Motorsport, the Spaniard expressed his excitement about embarking on this new chapter:

“I’m really proud to be joining VAR. It’s a project that excites me a lot, and I’m thankful for the trust the team has shown in me ahead of the 2026 season. I can’t wait to give my best on track and work hard to help the team achieve great results.”

VAR’s Team Principal Brad Joyce offered a warm welcome to del Pino, sharing a few words on del Pino’s arrival to the team:

“We’re excited to welcome Bruno to the team as he completes our FIA Formula 3 line up for 2026. With a season of F3 already under his belt and a strong record in Eurocup-3, he brings both experience and proven consistency to the team. The upcoming post season tests will give him the chance to get familiar with our environment and we will prepare together for the season ahead. We’re looking forward to working with him and are confident he will be a strong asset as we take on the 2026 campaign.”

Heading into his second campaign in a fresh new environment, del Pino will be aiming for a better season in 2026. With a full season of experience now under his belt, the Spaniard will look to build on the lessons he has learned this year.
