Chloe Chambers has won in dominate style in the streets of Las Vegas. Chambers took the race from start to finish. Doriane Pin came home to take the Championship for 2025. After starting P4 she dropped back to P5, winning Champion status nonetheless.
Following Friday’s Qualifying session, teammates Chloe Chambers, and Alisha Palmowski took off from the front row. Lined up behind them was Alba Larsen, followed by the two drivers competing for the title in this final round of competition—Doriane Pin and Maya Weug.
Lined up behind the top five were Tina Hausmann, Emma Felbermayr, and Nina Gademan, in 6th, 7th, and 8th respectively. Taking the 9th grid spot Rafaela Ferreira, the 10th taken by leading rookie Ella Lloyd. In order from 11th back to 18th was Joanne Ciconte, Lia Block, Rachel Robertson, Courtney Crone, Aurelia Nobels (taking a 3 place grid penalty after Qualifying 13th), Chloe Chong, Payton Westcott, and Nicole Havrda.
LIGHTS OUT!
The formation lap began and as a repeat of Race 1, Emma Felbermayr failed to get away. Eventually she was able to get away again, before retreating to the pits. As five lights went out, it was Chambers who lead into Turn 1 with Palmowski close behind.
Larsen remained P3 through the first lap, holding Pin back. Larsen looked to lunge around the outside of Palmowski through the final corner, though she backed out. Weug looked to make her move on Pin, also unable to do so.
Crone made her move on Block taking P11. Debate sparked whether this overtake was within track limits. By lap 3, Novels had moved up six positions to 10th. Wescott made her move on Ciconte. Contact was made, both cars spun resulting in a Yellow Flag in sectors 1 and 2. A Safety Car deployed soon after. Ciconte and Westcott both ended their race here.
The Safety Car ends
The Safety Car retreated to the pit lane at the conclusion of lap 5. Chambers bunched up the field for the restart, remaining ahead once she decided to go. Pin attacked Larsen and moved up to P3. Weug took her opportunity to also get past and took P4.
Felbermayr made her way past Havrda to take P14, after starting in the pit lane. Hausmann and Lloyd go side by side, Lloyd getting past for P7. Crone and Block switched places, putting Block back in P11. Race control awarded Roberston a 10s time penalty for causing a collision. Race Control noted Havrda for a false start. She was handed a 10s penalty.
At the commencement of lap 9, Chambers had a 0.6s gap on her teammate Palmowski. Palmowski was then 0.5s ahead of Pin. Robertson made her move on Felbermayr to take P12. Weug made a risky dive down the inside of Pin into Turn 1 to take P3, barely hanging onto the position before solidifying her stance.
The final three laps
Weug sat right on Palmowski’s rear, looking for a way past. As the final three laps began, she attempted a run into Turn 1 on Palmowski, unable to get past. Weug goes side by side with Palmowski into Turn 14, Weug getting past to take P2.
Palmowski and Weug fought down the front straight and into Turn 1. Weug broke too late, losing her place to Palmowski, before being attacked by Pin. Larsen used this battle as her opportunity to get past Pin, and took P4 from the French woman.
The final lap commenced, and the Championship all came down to this moment. Lloyd and Gademan battled for P6, Lloyd coming out ahead. A three way battle commenced between Lloyd, Gademan, and Hausmann. Lloyd remained ahead of Gademan and Hausmann.
Chloe Chambers came home to take the final win of the season, with teammate Alisha Palmowski coming home second. Maya Weug came home to complete the podium, unfortunately losing her Championship battle.
After starting in P4, Doriane Pin came home in P5 to take the 2025 F1 Academy Championship, in her final season of competition.
