Prema Racing announced that Sebastián Montoya will be joining the team for his second F2 campaign in 2026. He will be joined by Mari Boya who makes the step from F3 to F2.
Montoya has had a strong rookie campaign with the team. He has grabbed three podiums and 91 points thus far. The Colombian will be happy to continue the strong momentum next season. Montoya heads into the final F2 round, sitting in 10th in the Drivers’ Standings. While the driver has grabbed pole, he is still chasing his first win of the season.
Thrilled for another campaign with Prema
Speaking about his renewal with Prema for the upcoming F2 season, Montoya stated:
“I’m really happy to be with the team again in 2026. I think the work we have done this year has been incredible, we had some ups and downs, but the biggest thing has been the learning process and how we’ve merged together.
“The work combines really well, and in the end, we all have one goal. I think the mindset for next year is just to keep our head down, keep pushing, and see what it brings.”
Similarly, Prema Racing Team Principal, Rene Rosin, expressed excitement for another year with Montoya.
“We are thrilled to have Sebastian with us again in 2026. We are confident in his potential, and with the pace he has shown so far this year, we look forward to seeing him compete with more experience under his belt. This year, he proved his ability to learn and progress even in such a testing environment as in FIA Formula 2, and was a great team player all around.”
The brilliant work of both Montoya and Prema will be exciting to watch next year into the new season of F2. The Prema driver will hope to make waves next season as he will be one to watch.
