After having a difficult 2024 FIA F3 season with less-than-ideal results, MP Motorsport was looking forward to a fresh start in 2025. The Dutch team entered the 2025 F3 season with high expectations and delivered, securing an impressive 2025 campaign that saw them finish 3rd in the Teams’ Standings.
MP Motorsport finished its sixth campaign in the series with a total of 177 points. They achieved six podiums among all three cars and stood on the top step once this season, where Tim Tramnitz crossed the line victorious during the Sprint Race in Imola. For the first time since 2022, the team had two drivers finish within the Top 10 in the Drivers’ Standings, with Tramnitz finishing 4th and rookie Alessandro Giusti in 10th.
Tough start to the season
The 2025 F3 season opener in Melbourne proved to be a challenging weekend for MP Motorsport. Not only did the team and drivers have to adapt to the newly introduced car for the 2025 F3 season, but MP Motorsport also fielded two rookie drivers. At a circuit that is known for its technical corners and high-speed straights, MP Motorsport’s rookies Giusti and Bruno Del Pino faced a steep learning curve, upon their series debut. With neither driver having prior experience at the track, finding the rhythm proved challenging.
A challenging debut weekend in Melbourne
All three drivers had their own sets of challenges across the weekend. After a P5 finish in the Feature Race, Tramnitz was MP’s only driver to leave the weekend with points on the board.
Del Pino’s frustrating debut weekend in Melbourne started with him qualifying towards the back of the grid. After failing to set a lap time within 107% of the fastest time, the Spaniard’s weekend continued to go downhill during the Sprint Race, where he suffered his DNF of the season following a collision with AIX Racing’s Javier Sagrega. His debut Feature Race saw him finish in P26, marking another disappointing result for Del Pino.
For MP’s other rookie, Giusti placed P14 during Qualifying and had a lacklustre Sprint, finishing in the same position. However, he would later also have his race end prematurely in the Feature after colliding with DAMS Lucas Oil’s Matías Zagazeta.
Tramnitz second campaign in F3 was started strong with a P5 finish in Qualifying. However, an electrical issue during the Sprint had him falling several laps behind upon lights out. Sunday’s Feature Race proved more favourable for Tramnitz, as his calm composure in the wet earned him his first points of the season.
Building momentum
MP Motorsport’s fortunes began to turn following the weekend in Bahrain as the team finished the weekend with a collective 32 points. The 2025 F3 Bahrain GP weekend saw all three MP Motorsport drivers finish inside the points-scoring positions in either race. Giusti scored his maiden F3 points with a P7 finish in the Sprint. This momentum carried into the Feature Race where he’d matched his seventh-place finish. The Frenchman would go on to extend his points-scoring streak all the way to the sixth round in Spielberg.
For Del Pino, his maiden points came after a resilient fight through the field as he climbed to a P9 finish in the Feature. This was a hard-fought result for Del Pino, following his climb to P19 after a pit lane start during the Sprint.
Tramnitz’s showing at the 2025 F3 Bahrain GP proved to us why he deserved to be a part of the championship conversation. A frustrating Qualifying session had Tramnitz placed P13 on the grid. Despite being further down the field than he would’ve liked, the German driver would go on to climb his way to 6th to finish in the points during the Sprint. Tramnitz’s dominant and assertive drive to 3rd in the Feature Race saw him secure his first podium of the 2025 F3 season.
Podium highlights
All three drivers delivered impressive performances at the 2025 F3 Italian GP in Imola. It also marked a monumental weekend for MP Motorsport having achieved their first 1-2 finish during the Sprint. The weekend served as a major turnaround for Del Pino, having showcased great improvement in his one-lap pace. This secured the Spaniard a 12th-place start for Sunday’s Feature Race and a reverse-grid pole for Sprint Saturday. Upon lights out, Del Pino was able to hold on to P1 and was on the path to victory. Although he failed to fend off a charging Tramnitz from behind, Del Pino secured his maiden F3 podium with a P2 finish.
Barcelona brought MP Motorsport their fourth podium of the 2025 F3 season and Giusti’s first podium in the series. An impressive lap from the Frenchman during Qualifying was enough to place himself sixth on the grid for the Feature Race. A chaotic race saw him capitalise on several safety car restarts, but it was a daring final lap overtake that allowed Giusti to claim the final spot on the podium.
The 2025 F3 Austrian GP weekend was Tramnitz’s most dominant weekend of the season that briefly cemented his place in the championship fight before momentum slowly faded away. The Red Bull Ring, with its dramatic elevation changes, fast straights and heavy braking zones, stands as one of the most challenging tracks on the 2025 F3 calendar. Yet, Tramnitz was able to pull off an impressive recovery drive from 17th to finish 2nd in the Feature Race. It was not only a showcase of his resilience, but pure race craft that solidified his title chances until Budapest.
What’s next for MP Motorsport?
After finishing inside top three for the second time in three years, MP Motorsport is on the hunt for its first title in F3. Tramnitz’s final run with MP Motorsport in the series saw him in the hunt for the title and proved that the team was a worthy title-challenger.
In 2026, MP Motorsport will be a team to watch as the Dutch outfit fields three promising young talents. Giusti will be returning for his second campaign with the team and will be joined by rookie Mattia Colnaghi and Ferrari Driver Academy’s Tuukka Taponen, who joins MP Motorsport from ART Grand Prix.
