Pinnacle Motorsport has announced August Raber as its first confirmed driver for the 2026 Formula Regional Middle East (FRME) Championship. The 16-year-old Swedish driver will step up to the series following a strong campaign in British Formula 4.
Raber will make his FRME debut when the championship begins at Yas Marina Circuit on 16–18 January. The move marks his first appearance at Formula Regional level and continues his progression through the junior single-seater ranks.
Early single-seater experience
Raber made his single-seater debut in 2024 in the British Formula 4 Championship with Xcel Motorsport. He entered the series shortly after his 15th birthday. Despite missing several races due to injury, he finished 21st overall and ninth in the Rookie Cup. He claimed two Rookie podiums and recorded a best race finish of fifth at Brands Hatch Indy.
During the same period, Raber also competed in the Formula 4 Middle East Trophy, where he finished 10th in the standings and gained early experience of racing in the region. He then returned to Middle Eastern competition at the start of the following season and contested the F4 Middle East Championship. There, he finished eighth overall and secured one race victory along with two podium finishes.
He also raced in the F4 UAE Trophy Series at the end of the year. He achieved his first single-seater podium in that competition with a third-place finish at Yas Marina Circuit, the venue that will now host his Formula Regional debut.
Promotion after successful British F4 campaign
Raber earned his place in Formula Regional after an impressive 2025 British Formula 4 season. He secured three race victories and four additional podium finishes over the course of the year. He finished seventh in the championship standings with 188 points, establishing himself as a consistent front-runner. Those results confirmed his development since his debut season and provided the platform for his move to FRME with Pinnacle Motorsport.
Alongside his Formula 4 commitments, Raber gained experience in GB3 machinery in 2025. He stepped up to the championship and joined Argenti Motorsport with Prema power at Silverstone. That outing followed a Formula 4 campaign that delivered multiple wins and podiums.
His progression through British and Middle Eastern championships has now led him to Formula Regional competition. He will begin his FRME campaign with Pinnacle Motorsport at Yas Marina in January as he takes the next step in his developing racing career.
